Galadriel, Elven-Queen 2GU
Legendary Creature - Elf Noble
Will of the council -- At the beginning of combat on your turn, if another Elf entered the battlefield under your control this turn, starting with you, each player votes for dominion or guidance. If dominion gets more votes, the Ring tempts you, then you put a +1/+1 counter on your Ring-bearer. If guidance gets more votes or the vote is tied, draw a card.
4/5
Sauron, Lord of the Rings 5UBR (oof)
Legendary Creature -- Avatar Horror
When you cast this spell, amass Orcs 5, mill five cards, then return a creature card from your Graveyard to the battlefield.
Trample
Whenever a commander an opponent controls dies, the Ring tempts you.
9/9
Well this is a satisfying Sauron actually. I love that his ability resolve even if gets countered by counterspells, that makes him a bane for blue mages.
Wow that Sauron makes a BIG splash. Appropriately. Amass for orcs is a perfect fit, I wonder if that will be in the main set or just this commander deck?

MaRo had a clue in his teaser that seems to be about it, so probably in the main set too. Red black draft archtetype maybe?

Ah, you're right. The mechanic with a different creature type one is almost certainly Amass orcs.
So, Sauron costs 8 and only gives you his ETB effect if you cast him.
HOWEVER comma it's 8 mana for a 9/9 with trample, a 5/5 you get even if it's countered, AND a freebie out of your graveyard. As a bonus, the 9/9 buffs one of your creatures whenever you KO someone's commander.
That's a good deal. Especially if you combine it with aggressive, artifact-based mana ramp.

"Aggressive, artifact-based ramp"... So, play it in Commander?

It's actually hard to practically benefit from his "Tempt" ability since is so narrow, but I'm playtesting it and everything else works. It's always nice to resurrect uncounterable Archon of Cruelty or Void Winnover over and over with Anger in the graveyard. And his body and trample ability is nothing to joke about it either. Definitely worth all the mana if you bould around him correctly

Goes great in a Grixis draw-mill-reanimate deck, for example. And if getting mana out fast is important, a build could include stuff like the obvious Sol Ring; Lotus Petal, Mana Flare, Ghirapur Orrery, what have you.
The tempt ability...yeah, at first I thought that said 'creature' and it seemed a lot better. Stuff like that is why my old kitchen-table group house ruled "commander" to "a legendary creature" for non-commander games.

EDIT: Correct mana cost of Galadriel
RUNIN: Norse mythology set (awaiting further playtesting)
FATE of ALARA: Multicolour factions (currently on hiatus)
Contibutor to the Pyrulea community set
I'm here to tell you that all your set mechanics are bad
