I'm a bit confused why some battles produce legendary creatures and some don't. At first I thought it was split between uncommon and rare, but now we got an uncommon battle producing a legendary creature.
Pretty sure it's literally just flavor reasons. Multiple skyclaves could awaken on Zendikar, but there's only one Marchesa on Fiora, and Saheeli only built one Aetherwing. Ravnica probably has a good number of those constructs around, Dominaria has plenty of angels, and god knows Tarkir has no shortage of angry lightning-breathing dragons.

Kaladesh is my favourite. Card is pretty bad though. 2 mana for 1 thopter token and then it flips to a pretty good flying cranial plating, but it's still pretty vulnerable. I might find a use for it in my Breya deck, but mostly because I love Kaladesh stuff hehe.

Under siege of the Phyrexians, the Kaladeshi defense grid turns to the skies, with its own Pterodactyl Zord.

That's assuming the flavour came first.
