They can't all be worth more than a pack. I think the Lieges are a really cool idea in a set that supports all ten tricolors. I hope they reprint the whole cycle.
Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.

They could if they wanted to. But they won't. (If they did prices would drop on the secondary market to reflect that)

Save your perjorative "dude" for someone else. That also includes "bro" and "brah". I stand by my comment, these Lieges are poor picks for a premium set at rare. Damnation good, Lieges bad.

They're alright I guess, Creakwood being the most valuable, but these are originals. You can guarantee that the reprints will be maybe half that tops. It's nice to see them in the Frontier frame (M15), but I guess they have a formula about how much they can allocate to the top end vs. bottom end.

its Actually strixhavens witherbloom campus with the blood on their hands for that pricing spike because of this.

There's a finite amount of cool reprints, and there are lots of rares in double masters sets. Do you really expect them to blow their entire load in one year? It seems like you think wotc has a moral obligation to only give you packs worth more than the booster. Do you seriously think that's a sustainable business model? And if you don't care about that, why not demand the boosters cost $2.00? Companies not giving you exactly what you want at exactly the price you want is not a moral failing.
Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.

Been hearing this argument for years. They will not run out of things to print any time soon, especially when card prices continue to rise constantly thanks to new cards being introduced at an increased pace.

No one tends to mind if they open a $1 rare in a $4 pack, but when the pack is $16 then that $1 rare feels worse. Folks want more out of something if it's going to cost them more. Double Masters doesn't give more.
Of course Double Masters is a terrible product made strictly for whales and the only reason they increased the price of boosters is they know people will want to play the lottery in the hopes of opening $100.
Two things. These aren't $1 rares, at least not yet. I'm not here praising Lavalanche or Fiery Justice. And these packs have two rares, so these packs only cost double rarewise, and your probability of opening less than $2 between both rares is pretty low. Opening a pack actually worth $16 is far from a guarantee, but that's just how boosters work. You're always gonna have stinker packs no matter the price, and this set has enough bonkers rares (even ignoring the mythics) that packs above asking price aren't unlikely.
Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.
Also it comes down to what joy people get out of the packs. Lots of people get a thrill opening packs and that feeling of hoping for a big dollar card. I know I've done that many times. Hell my latest Streets of New Capenna gave me <50% of the box value (I paid C$147 before tax for a set booster box. Barely cracked $70 in value).
Sets with a narrow but high-ceiling top end is nothing new. It's always been like that. But this time, the hefty initial investment kinda dictates that some value comes out of it, however that may be. If they load it with decent uncommons or some commons then it won't be so bad. Reminds me of the days of 4th Edition through to, well, Saga block. If your rare was ***** you still could salvage some out of the non-rare cards. (Many times a Bolt from a 4th Ed. pack outpowered the rare. Deathlace? Eww, no thanks).

Anywho, I did a quick check of the lieges and in Shadowmoor, they rank from most valuable to least:
$7.35
$5.04
$4.74
$2.47
$1.64
From Eventide:
$9.00
$4.08
$3.40
$2.66
$2.43
