I'm confused - isn't this just the buy-a-box reward for picking up a Collector's Box? Presumably no one is buying that box for the bonus - they want the premium flavor of cards in the box, or to re-sell it.
Comments like this for example - you pay $200 for the box, that's why you are there. This is just icing, I guess. It's not for me, but I don't understand the ire. Be angry at Collection Booster boxes instead?
I wonder what this says about the amount of treasure producing cards in SNC? I can imagine in a three colour set a high number of treasure cards would be helpful for colour fixing and it fits with the thematics too.

Yeah, I hope it is a minor theme for this set. I always like more treasures.

In a city run by crime lords, treasure seems like a very natural fit. There's this new "halo" concept and we will see what that does mechanically (my vote is for the return of Energy). But treasure is still a nice reward for criminal enterprise.

i think it depends on how you look at it.
if its just icing for you, you are right.
if you look at it as an incentive to buy, it is a weak promo.
and if you look at it in a matter of "what do you need to do to get the token" Dontrike is right.
And to be honest, from a marketing point of view I think the idea of family based tokens is very nice, but the way they get released to the audience is feels wrong. those are things that should be in family based prerelease packs if you ask me.
Why does Asia keep getting all of these region-exclusive treasure tokens? First there was the Lunar New Year token, then the gold-plated Liliana token, and now six more tokens for SNC? Weird.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Country specific or not that is awful.
Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest WUR Voltron Control
Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun WU Unblockable Mirror Trickery
Ra's al Ghul (Sidar Kondo) and Face-Down Ninjas
Brudiclad, Token Engineer
Vaevictis (VV2) the Dire Lantern
Rona, Disciple of Gix
Tiana the Auror
Hallar
Ulrich the Politician
Zur the Rebel
Scorpion, Locust, Scarab, Egyptian Gods
O-Kagachi, Mathas, Mairsil
"Non-Tribal" Tribal Generals, Eggs
On one side this comes across as blatantly greedy and out of touch in some blind attempt to hunt whales.
On the other it keeps the marketing department busy and hopefully away from the main product lines.

"We"? By "we" do you mean one region?
It's literally right there in the image, in big letters. "SOUTHEAST ASIA EXCLUSIVE"
Well, yes, but does that mean the tokens are exclusive or just that the deal is an exclusive?
