What the heck is this name? Do characters inside the universe of DnD also talk about "+2 buffs" or whatever? Aren't card names supposed to be, like, in universe names?

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Yup, generic magic weapons get names like "+3 longsword." If your weapon has an actual name, that's a sign you've got the good stuff.
Please, mill me. Mill my important cards. Mill my lands. Mill it all. Because I will still deal 20 damage before you can mill 45 cards most every time.

That sounds so anti-fantasy for the very first fantasy RPG ever. Everything, even just "Common Mace" would sound much better and fitting than this. Not even in my RPG videogames I found so lame names lol
Yeah, the name feels awkward-- nobody ever refers to +X magic weapons as such in character. I always thought having an integer for magic items like that was lame for D&D anyway.

It terms of the +X it's for the players, but in game you would never see a vendor or shop keep tell you something is a "+2 Mace". Even some named weapons in a game are just simple +X weapons.
Mark Rosewater had this discrepancy pointed out and he said that aesthetics do not justify excessive power. They apparently do not want vulshok morningstar to ever return for limited reasons. Does anyone remember whether the morningstar caused problems in Mirrodin limited?

It did not. I remember trying to play equipment and getting blown the fck out by everything bar that mace. It is a solid equipment as +2 for 2 is sweet though. But there was decent artefact removal.....looking at you glissa sunseeker.

Oath of the Gatewatch in a nutshell;

"Wind!" shouts Jace
"Water!" shouts Kiora
"Heart!" shouts Gideon
"Go Multiverse!" shouts everyone combined
"By your powers combined, I am Captain Multiverse!" shouts Captain Multiverse

Mirrodin equipment was quite OP in general, all the stat-block equipment is pretty good, as your little 1/1 becomes relevant again.
And yes being colorless they are incredible good, as theres no deck that doesnt want them in limited.
Colorless equipment at least means anybody will snatch it up.
As a "white" equipment, this is strong and will go longer on the table during drafts, as other colors cant play it.
(But with that many treasure tokens in the set, splashing for something like this would be quite reasonable, as this enables all the other creatures to get in an trade up).
I can't believe they actually did it.
(Ignore the equip cost, they'll never let us have Vulshok Morningstar back in Limited.)

Low-power cube enthusiast!
My 1570 card cube (no longer updated)
My 415 Peasant+ Artifact and Enchantment Cube
Ever-Expanding "Just throw it in" cube.

Equip 3
Seems like a big oops there.
The name is also incredibly stupid.

Mirrodin had Loxodon Warhammer as UNCOMMON and Vulshok Morningstar at common, Bonesplitter at common, all the good stuff.
