More previews from Bennie's stream. Rebbec protects your artifacts (like the Thran do), and Marble Diamond implies the full cycle is in the set. Also, we finally have a Vial Smasher the Fierce with the current wording.
Rebbec is easily the most important character yet from the old lore to get a card
And good news for people her husband (glacian) is here too
Agreed, and despite being an uncommon I think her card is quite interesting and potentially very powerful! Really encourages you to get an array of artifacts out and makes it very difficult to interact with you at that point. Something like Liquimetal Coating can even protect her. The leaked Glacian seems quite a bit weaker (disappointing given his character's importance as well) but having blue would be a nice combo with her. I think Rebecc will be a compelling choice for artifact based commander decks, either in the partner slot or in the 99.

It's always good to see WotC acknowledging W's artifact roots.

I disagree. All she does is protect, conditionally. Padeem already does that better than she does, and doesnt see much play.
I could maybe see her having success with some kind of aggro artifact creatures build, but otherwise shes just kind of okay, and way more deserving of being in the 99 over being a commander
Shes a huge let down for me, not just mechanically but flavor-wise too. She was an architect, and an artist, and really had nothing to do with artifice beyond being married to glacian

Padeem doesn't render your artifact creatures unblockable or allow them to block without consequences.

All architects in Magic are artificers. She's also a member of the Thran, where practically every citizen with a job is an artificer. That made the contrast with what Yawgmoth did all the more apparent.
What monster in the spoiler scheduling committee or whatever decided to give someone Rebbec and not Glacian? Like... really? I guess the diamond I can understand because it’s an artifact but just randomly Vial Smasher instead of pairing her with Glacian? Whoever made that decision needs to take a dock in pay.
