SSo.... it can be your land drop for the turn, or ramp... seems quite decent. I'm not a huge fan of 1G dorks but the flexibility counts for something and he current environment is fairly slow... so maybe.
I guess I don't get the point of doing something as elaborate as "modal dual faced card" for what amounts to a variant of [basicland]cycling
Basic land cycling costs mana, this doesn't. That's a pretty significant difference.
If it's your first(+only?) land, sure, I guess. But if you basiccycle for 1 and then play the land it is a net-zero mana cost. Which is exactly the same as etb mdfc except with the cycling you got guaranteed access to the color in question.
This feels like what Dryad Arbor should have been. Either a 1/1 that taps for a Mana or a land that taps for a mana, but never both at the same time which creates weird rules issues and people doing crap like hiding the FTV version in with their lands where it's less obvious they have an extra creature in play. Awesome design...probably one of the best of these cards too.
Also of note, because it is SURE to come up, as I'm understanding the CR update making these cards actually work under the rules, you will NOT be able to use Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath or a similarly worded "put a land into play from your hand" effect to play these as lands, since they aren't actually land cards in your hand, and can only be played transformed as the land side when you take the special action to play a land...so we may have finally found the spot where Growth Spiral isn't just pretty much always a strictly better version of Explore assuming you have access to blue mana.

You'll always get your green mana next turn. Do you want it with this adorable 1/1 instead?

On to the next mediocre reveal!
I wonder if this little guy will become the next pet for MtG arena. It's certainly cute enough, and there already are more than enough dogs and cats.
