Probably not. On the one hand doing this to just creatures is 9 mana. But on the other the color cost is real rough and probably should be worth at least 2 more mana onto the effect of not more. I think they played it safe but it could have gone either way.

Wow. This is a commander staple in Mardu.

This is definitely what the card should have been. The cost is prohibitive, but there are ways to get around that if you really want to.

There are better, cheaper wrath effects for Zurgo. This doesn't even interact with his indestructible ability.

It's a shame it's just a worse Cyclonic Rift. It's sorcery with insane color requirements in exchange for actually destroying things, which usually doesn't matter when you're bouncing so much stuff that most of it gets discarded. On the bright side, it lets mardu in on what was once exclusive to blue.

yes the ultimatums is infact the last teaser on marks cards a cycle to finish

except for grixis i might have to ask to re-imagination of shard ultimatums so they are actually edh usable

All these mana symbols on the mana cost sure are a problem but I'd pay one extra mana to make my Planar Cleansing one-sided all day everyday. And it's miles better than Violent Ultimatum, even without the ability to blow up lands.

I have a pretty sizeable list of cards that are "worse than Cyclonic Rift" in Commander, it's called 95% of the cards ever printed.

Definitely putting this over Dread Cacodemon in my Tariel EDH.

So far it looks like they learned their lesson from the first half of the cycle. All three of the ones revealed so far can just win as soon as you play them. The Sultai one is the only one that can do it from out of nowhere. But all of these are more than likely going to be counter or lose.

Given how conservative WotC are nowadays (especially with Standard sets),
I don’t know how you could realistically expect that.
This is already 2 less than Plague Wind.

And don’t misunderstand, I would gladly accept a strictly better version,
but this already feels super strong to me.
