Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Why would Erebos, god of the dead, chose a Returned as his champion? Someone who defies his domain.
Maybe it's their punishment for attempting at defying death? I mean, what else would Erebos do to all those undead trying to escape? Kill them? Kick them out?
It is just me or is the amount of graveyard hate outstanding? I can't see a card like the new Elspeth being good in standard with this amount of options against her, because she feels like she isn't good without the Escape ability. The moment she would be good in standard everyone would use the hate cards against her. I mean she seems to be like a slower version of history of benalia and she is still more vulnerable. I don't know. I wasn't happy with her before but now even less.
Why variable toughness and not power? I guess they want blue aggro but not black?
I wish the color pie actually meant something. Next up a red demigod with zero power and variable toughness too.

They moved higher toughness than power into to black since like Khans. The blue demigod giving frost-hexproof and a toughness based on devotion seems like a pain to deal with similar to invisible stalker.

Have both out. Pay 2 life and 1 thanks to K'rrik's static ability. Then exile two cards from a graveyard. Then gain 0, 1, or 2 life back for each creature card exiled this way.
Good art, ok card (fits a hole in an archetype that i m sure will be played) and nice cycle of demigods.
But ...
What the hell? Tymaret as a defensive card lol? Does this fits his character? Imo either his attack needed to be his devotion or his activated ability needed to create zombies or in someway help killing creatures.

Because there’s no lore so why bother with logic
Theros imo is one of the most convoluted, unintuitive, and unplanned world designs. Idk who is fighting who, why they are fighting, etc. I only know there are gods, people, and monsters, and it's supposed to be based on greek mythology. Maybe I need to brush up on my mythology, but I have no idea wtf is going on in this place. Are humans at war with eachother? If not, why are they always showing people in massive phalanxes or in scenes of war? Wtf is happening in this place?
And the black demigod is an Escape/general graveyard hoser. Tymaret has chosen your cards to be forever banished to the Underworld.

Really nice set so far--if I am going to get back in to playing at some point it might as well be when this set drops.

I get that, but even in makes more sense to me than from. Also, Theophilia translates to roughly god-love in Latin. Nylea probably named her that. 😏
Gaaaaahhh I wish we could just see the whole set already. And the non-promo Callaphe art

Think about it. Would you choose a rando or someone with a legion at his beck and call.

All the demigods shown so far have been dead. It seems like creating a demigod requires a Returned.
