Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I wonder why this Commander set is called "Modern" Horizon.
- Reprint a card that sees play in Legacy and might as such very well see Modern play
- Still whine about "Commander Horizons"
Good job.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Again, this is have NOTHING to do with the power level. The really funny fact is that this time we're talking about of a card was originally printed exclusively in a Commander set, hence the reference of "Commander's Horizon". If this card wasn't meant to be played in EDH, well what the hell, what then?! The joke was just all there.
- From an EDH player that absolutely loves this set and want another 1000 of Commanders Horizon.
Probably doesn't see play tbh. Turn 4 you cast this and it does nothing, you're only getting value turn 5 and later. Sure it dodges bolt but still dies to push, path etc etc so a 4 mana do nothing will struggle. Doesn't help that at 4 mana in those colours it's having to compete with jace and cryptic (and now fof possibly too). Format is too hostile for this.

I agree with you but for the fans of grindy games this might be Snapcaster 5 and 6, specifically not played on T4. Play her on T5 to bring your Push back and she's got a reasonable floor. From there the ceiling is pretty high.
Interesting, so this is by far the newest card to be reprinted in MH1, right?
Yes, this beats Flusterstorm by about 6 years, which in turn beats every other reprint (relative to first printing) by... much more than that. All the other reprints have a pre-modern frame printing.

I think it’s unfair to talk about legacy in the context of Modern because Legacy is so much more spell heavy. Brainstorm, Ponder, and Preordain are the three big spells that this goes great with that just aren’t Modern legal. This may be good enough, but I’m not super confident.

Right, and Modern is moderately defined by it’s removal, Path, Push and Bolt, which also go well with Kess. Also, wizard sub-type has way more relevance in this format than legacy.
Kess will easily find a home as a 2-of in a few decks, I’m quite certain of that.
Legacy is slower than modern, though. The reason Kess works there is that turn 4 is not a distant possibility, where as in modern we're talking about a 3/4 that has to somehow keep you alive against a creature with 5+ power. By the time you get her down on turn 4, you wont have time to actually cast the removal needed to prevent lethal and would end up chump blocking.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

Jeskai control, which tends to win on t7+ would disagree and while it goes to Fringe status from time to time control is getting new toys in this set so they may be able to slow down the format.

Doubling on all the good cheap spells is just plain good.
4 toughness is enough to dodge a lot of stuff in modern and you can play mass removal and rebuy them.

Ahh...thank you sir.
4-color is a bit much for a Limited product like this, I guess. I'm still quite surprised to see Kess though.
