Put target permanent you own on the bottom of your library. Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a card that shares a card type with that permanent. Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
Retrace (You may cast this card from your graveyard by discarding a land card in addition to paying its other costs.)
Cool effect. But why is it 4 mana? That's... That's a lot for a card that can whiff a lot.
Guess they're just like "it's land themed if we slap on retrace!"
Whiff? You're casting this on your tokens and getting a creature card, or turning a now-useless mana rock into a random artifact. How does this ever whiff unless you're making a mistake and using this on a permanent you don't want to lose?
With any amount of library manipulation like Scroll Rack, this is a nice way to convert Treasure, Clue, or Artifact land into Blightsteel Colossus, or any creature token into an Eldrazi, or even turn a cheap enchantment like Spreading Seas into an Omniscience. And then you can do it again the next turn. And then cast Life From The Loam and do it again... Pretty nuts.
I really like this! And now I am kinda seeing the "lands matter" part, where you are using lands brought back from Windgrace or other sources to fuel shenanigans. Deck could be sweet!

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Ok. Play windgrace as your commander and no other planeswalkers. Target your Windgrace with this and you can activate Windgrace's abbilities multiple times. Neat!

Retrace is very very powerful. Reminder that Oona's Grace is actually playable in Pauper, while Raven's Crime is playable in other formats as well. Plus, I'm not sure what you mean by "whiff", it's guaranteed to hit a card, and if it is a bad one... well, that's the point of Retrace.
Ok. Play windgrace as your commander and no other planeswalkers. Target your Windgrace with this and you just stacked your entire deck and can activated Windgrace's abbilities multiple times. Neat!
random order.
The best you can do with this is deliberately only run two cards of a permanent type.
It also becomes even sillier with top of library tutors/Top/etc.

“random order”
Looks pretty powerful. A repeatable Polymorph is nothing to scoff at. Wish they hadn't repurposed Unstable art for it, but it kind of makes sense - Polymorph's AW is also pretty silly.

That's what I thought they were saying at first as well. But they are saying that if you target Windgrace, and he is your only PW then you will instantly put Windgrace back on the field and be able to use his ability again. Can repeat this process as long as you have lands in hand and mana available.

For this to whiff you'd need to target a token you own that doesn't share a card type with anything else in your deck. YOUR DECK. Meaning if it whiffs you're not playing it right. The best way to do this is to load your deck with big dumb things in a card type and cheap token producers of that type. So say Cluestones while all your artifacts are baller. Sorceries that make creature tokens while all your tokens are dumb and stompy.
If you slap this into the wrong deck, yes, it'll whiff. But that's more of a you problem.
It has retrace so automatic a lands matter card....*cough* *cough*
Oh, so I guess Landfall doesn’t equate to lands matter either then...
It’s a pretty sweet card. Retrace fuels Hyponotoad, Windgrace does a LFtL impression. Personally, this deck seems more focused than the UR one from yesterday. While not hitting the peak of Lands matter(yet), it’s very synergistic in what it’s trying to accomplish.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Own, not control. So it doesn't work on stuff you Threaten, but gives you lots of value if you had to give something away.
