Seems a lot worse than Broodmate Dragon or Armada Wurm despite the superior mana cost... it would have been much better if the smaller token creature didn't get all the juice. As it stands there are very few dinosaurs that make me care about boosting other dinosaurs.
Seven P/T spread across two bodies for five mana seems good, especially when the creature itself is a pseudo-dino-lord. At this point, I would be surprised if dinosaurs wasn't going to be a Standard deck, even if it's tier 2 or 1.5.
This card will be the backbone of any dino deck in standard. It is the best dinosaur we`ve seen so far.

It would have been better if you had 7 power coming in hot at 5 mana?

Not what I meant... I think the initial rush of "This card is incredible!"is way off base though. At 5 mana it's pretty lackluster, in large part because the vanilla 4/4 body is unimpressive. It's total P/T ratio is great, but trample is weak on a 3/3, so the haste is really it's best selling point, and compared to Glorybringer it just falls short in almost every way.
It's best shot at being playable is dino tribal... and there are currently a few mediocre dinosaurs and no great ones, so I'm dubious that such a deck will be a thing.

Respectfully, I think your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.
Two bodies, one with trample and another granting a static effect, and still you find it weak? Card is probably good enough to be played outside of dino tribal in standard.

7 power, 2 bodies, 5 CMC makes it good.
The tribal gives it a bump. Of course it's for tribal purposes otherwise just play glorybringer, however... the rate makes it a better than average card.
Regisaur Alpha is potentially a finisher in that Dinosaur deck that seems to be taking shape. 7 power for 5 mana with the upside of giving other Dinosaurs haste is very good no matter how you look at it.

did they forget about Hystrodon ?
Looks very much like a dinosaur to me, or am I wrong ?
Looks more like a pangolin to me, which is a mammal.

Did they miss allosaurus rider? It should be an Elf Warrior Dinosaur! I wish they'd errata card type based on riders, so master decoy would be a human horse.

Not the most respectful statement.
Consider that Ishkanah, Grafwidow is hardly seeing any play at the moment, and that Pack Guardian has seen no play at all despite having flash and a great P/T ratio. Remember that 5 mana will still get you a Verdurous Gearhulk or a Glorybringer after rotation. Gearhulk is probably the best comparison... where you get better P/T total and more flexibility about where to distribute it, trample on the primary body and up to 4 "haste" damage if you have another creature in play, which you usually do... all without needing a second color. This card isn't even close to the competition.
It does remind me of how many people were going crazy about Prowling Serpopard when it was first spoiled, though. Everyone looks at the flashy parts of the card and forgets to evaluate whether it's actually good at it's job.
Dinosaur Tribal is looking like a real possibility. 2 mana ramp spell, 1 mana fight card, lords that can give value. Gonna be a solid midrange deck and I expect to see it a lot at FNM just for 'this is cool' purposes. I've been crapping on WotC a lot the last few years, but it looks like Ixalan is a change in the right direction
There's nothing wrong with the dinosaurs and several look playable, but man have they been dull and uninspired design. They could literally have put these same texts and abilities on any creature.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Too bad it doesn't have haste himself, yet you can still tap it to crew your Conqueror's Galleon
I mean... A giant dinosaur at the helm of a galleon thant then turns into a land
It gets better; the flavor of Conqueror's Galleon is that you're using the lumber that the ship is made of to build the fort on Conqueror's Foothold. So imagine the Regisaur, hammer and nails clutched in its tiny hands, trying to engage in carpentry.

Pallimud is another one that seems awfully Dinosaur-ish to me... but apparently, not them.

Nearly correct. It's a reference to genus Hystrix, old world porcupines, just like Rotted Hystrix is. Meanwhile, Erithizon is a variant spelling of the genus name Erethizon, the new world porcupine.
