Cycling 3R

Shefet Monitor - 5G (Uncommon)

6/5
Stir the Sands - 4BB (Uncommon)
Sorcery
Create three 2/2 black Zombie creature tokens.
Cycling 3B
When you cycle Stir the Sands, create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token.
Right, now I can step away from the keyboard...
They're all fairly useful. That Monitor is a cute new Krosan Tusker. Will see play in my son's Lizard Tribal deck at the very least.
Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
It seems to be an Amonkhet thing. Since they are all very religious with actual Gods around etc. and a hierarchy based around this there seems to be a proliferation of Clerics in all colors. I have seen a few other cards from the set you would expect to be Wizards. More specifically all "Viziers" are Clerics, probably because Vizier is the second-highest rank to Pharaoh and in a theocracy that makes them highpriests of Bolas.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
I'm thinking now with this set coming out is the perfect time for me to make a Grixis EDH deck with a bunch of control and Rise from the Tides with lots and lots of zombies.

Stir the sands after the newly revealed Liliana Enchantment should be great. I'm particularly fond of token generators for zombies and this one is basically a 4 CMC 2/2 black zombie with flash that draws a card upon cast. That's not bad at all.
Love me some "When you cycle this, do X" effects, and these all seem... well, about right, cost-wise. I'm less positive about the cycle ability for Deem Worthy, but I think that "do damage and then draw" always results in small damage numbers, right?
what you all fail to realize is that desert you can fetch. yay for deserts and camels lol
Still no reprint for classic Desert because it was considered too powerful nowadays.
Of course, in a meta where being a colourless land isn't even all that much of a downside thanks to vehicles, eldrazis and other powerful artifacts, as well as hordes of 1/1s who can suddenly trade with X/2's, perhaps it's a good idea to NOT print a land that can ping for 1, but hey, keep hating on that one comment when there's probably a very good reason for it.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Mechanically, the Lizard interests me. How does it compare to Krosan Tusker?
G less for the same body. 1 more to cycle, but it puts the land straight into play.
And it fetches freakin' Deserts.
So yeah, pretty good by comparison. Only downside is waiting the extra turn to cycle.
With the art on Stir the sands, they now absolutely have to print three different versions of the zombie token, one being human, one jackal-man and one naga.

Nope, Desert is a land type, not a creature type.
Nope, because Desert is a land type, not a creature type.
A redundant backup plan in Crackdown Construct.dec, in case you don't hit a Wandering Fumarole?
