MaRo is kind of a troll whenever he "spoils" something, and he could just mean Yahenni's Expertise as "Yahenni's Card". However, by now I'm pretty sure he already noticed that Commander is serious business for the MTG community and wouldn't kid about such an statement.
With a significant part of the story focussing on time left to live, I wonder if we will see fading return as a mechanic? It would fit the flavor if cards like whatever Yahinne will be fade, but can put more fade counters on themselves via creature interactions of some sort.

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
So what colors will this dude be. Black is one clearly.
To be fair no Aetherborns are "dudes", as they are agender. Even then, Yahenni's habits are clearly more feminine-ish.
With that said I can't really see much U in Yahenni. Mono-B is possible but overlaps with Gonti, Lord of Luxury a bit too much, with two mono-B Legendary Aetherborns back-to-back. I could see a bit of G in Yahenni, but the color duo that I think shines the most in Yahenni is BR. And honestly, I would love to see a BR character that isn't straight-up insane or sociopathic.

I don't think we'll see Yahenni have actual fading but I think you're on the right track. Perhaps a fading-esque effect mixed with a sengir vampire-esque ability? While not a spectacular commander, I'd love to see a Yahenni like this:
Yahenni, [superlative]
1BG
Yahenni enters the battlefield with 5 (still not sure on the correct number) +1/+1 counters.
At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a +1/+1 counter from Yahenni.
Whenever a creature dealt damage by Yahenni this turn dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Yahenni.
0/0
I toyed with the idea of making them just BG or adding lifelink for flavor but that seemed perhaps too powerful. In addition, I don't think this design makes for a very interesting commander, just a very powerful beater.
I dunno, Yahenni had a surprising amount of concern for doing the right thing (not to mention guilt) for being a monoblack character. Considering how friendly s/he has been with Nissa, GB is more likely than UB
I would love if they were just monoblack. The Aetherborn themselves are already designed to show a different side of Black, creatively. So I don't think adding another color to illustrate the deviation from the typical Black characterization would do that any favors.
But say if they absorbed a certain blue character like Tezzeret or the other bad guy....

Just saw on the wizards blog, i guess their not a walker..
There's some concern in the Reddit thread about this that people will be let down by Yahenni's card. I won't speak to the power level, because these days unless it's Panharmonicon or Cloudblazer, I don't know what I'm talking about. But I will say the card is incredibly flavorful. What else would you expect from a card with the type line "Aetherborn Vampire." And that flavor text...
Given that Yahenni shows a sense of morals I would guess at them being WB. Lifelink would be perfectly in-keeping with the lifedraining ability. Might also have deathtouch seeing as all three instances of Yahenni's lifedrain ability so far have been lethal, though in that case I'd think Yahenni would cause you to gain life whenever a creature dealt damage by them dies, most likely equal to the killed creature's toughness. They could even go one step beyond and have you pay mana to destroy a creature blocking or blocked by Yahenni, then gain life.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I'm hoping that Yahenni stays mono-black, with an ability like Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief, and incorporating the +1/+1 power/toughness idea. My rough idea for their textbox:
Yahenni enters the battlefield with 3 +1/+1 counters on it.
At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a +1/+1 counter from Yahenni.
BB: Target creature gets -1/-1 until the end of turn. Put a +1/+1 counter on Yahenni.
I'm just not sure how to cost them, initially thought 1BB would be good, but like I said, just thinking of abilities now, casting cost would be later.
as long as this agender character recurs, and I don't mean in a game mechanic sense, I'll be a happy camper.
In their first story appearance they indicated Yahenni had like 80 days left to live or something. Unless there turns out to be some sort of Aether-based miracle extending the Aetherborn's lifespans, I don't think Yahenni will appear again.

Whoa that's awesome, Aetherborn Vampire. I'll take the hyping with a grain of salt though, it's not like they'll ever honestly say something like "well the card is hot garbage."

Let's make an assumption here that they started a cycle of enemy-colored Legendary creatures in Kaladesh and will finish that cycle in Aether Revolt. The cards we have thus far are:
BG - most likely to be Yahenni UR - not going to be Yahenni (but will be possibly be the artifact-centered UR legend Commander players have been craving)
So what could this card be like? We know a few things about Yahenni and the Aetherborn in general:
Aetherborn are part of the energy cycle, literally living manifestations of Aether with short lifespans that is destined to be brought back into the wild at their death and subsequent consumption at then hands of Gremlins.
Yahenni is a drainer, which means she can artificially increase her lifespan by draining the Aether from other things (presumed to only be living things at this time, given the three examples in the story).
The Aetherborn are very perceptive of emotions, having a deep connection with those around them. Empathic was the word used in the story to describe this ability (think half-Betazoid from Star Trek).
Given these facts, and given that this is also a major mechanic of the set, my conclusion is that Yahenni will have an energy-based mechanic(s). Her card could be something like this:
Yahenni, the Aether Drainer 2BG
When ~ enters the battlefield, you get EEE. T: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature or PW an opponent controls. You get E. E, T: Put a +1/+1 counter on ~.
At the beginning of your end step, you may pay EE. If you do not, put a -1/-1 counter on ~.
2/3
Edited to change cost of activated ability from EE to E

I think we need a black walker who shows the greed side of black without evil or darkness.
As for other colors im not too concerned, but hopefully their not BW as we already have a vampire in those colors.

Vampirism is a nice skill for a short-lived character. Constantly craving for new life force.

Not every character needs to be a planeswalker.
(I might need to put that in my sig, what with how often I have to say it.)
