Are these the only rare lands? There seem to be some imbalance between colors so I would bet not, I guess we are getting some mix of these 3 cycles in each deck. But are we getting 2 duals per deck, 4 duals per deck or 6 duals per deck?
Interestingly they are untapped lands, That probably means we are indeed getting them plus the casual twelve taplands we always get (probably trilands, evolving wilds and vivids +others)...
Man, how sweet would it be to get the rest of the cycle of the Odyssey filter lands (the enemy filters)?? I mean, Wizards would never print them in Standard, so a Commander product would be the perfect place to do it.

I will be so thrilled if they print the enemy odyssey filter lands for commander 2016.
Man am I bleh at the lands, this would have been the perfect opportunity to add in Shocks or even make a legendary dual-land variant. They are fun though and are a nice addition to your land stable. The checklands are nice.

I actually think they chose pretty good lands, assuming the one-offs have enough good stuff in them. If you think about it, these work really well for the desired audience. People who haven't played for super long and are interested in EDH, with maybe some standard or modern cards. The checklands + battlands work reasonably well together, and combine fairly well with the filters and painlands. Newer players probably don't have the allied pains or filter lands so those are probably good for them as well. Filters also work extremely well with the partner commanders as they guarantee the mana to cast one of the partners.
As good as possible? No. But if I were constructing a <$15 mana base I could do a lot worse. We'll have to wait to see the rest of the lands to see if these decks can reasonably cast the 4C commanders on turn 4.
Oh nice!! I love the checklands. Wish they were the enemy ones but I'll gladly take more of the allied ones too. And now I'll finally be able to get my playset of some of the enemy Painlands again. That's really cool. I wonder if the full cycle of each is included? Don't care about the Oddsey filter lands, would have preferred the Mirage fetches. But still neat, I guess. I've seen some people run them in decks.
Filterland reprints? Sweet! Checks and Pains are cool too. But will we get an additional cycle of enemy lands to balance out the ally Filters? Temples, perhaps?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Well sure we're expecting ten Checks and Pains, but what's going to counterbalance the five Filters?

Putting in shocks simply makes shop raise prices on the decks, and the ones with the really good shocks (U/R, G/B, etc) will get hoarded off of Wal-Mart and Target shelves.

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Wizards has set my expectations so low for products these days that I'm surprised that they are printing any rare lands at all instead of just every single come into play tapped common/uncommon land they usually push into these products and call it good enough. I'm still hoping for filter lands. Graven Cairns These are 4 color decks the number of super multicolor lands needed to play them is very high. Out of your normal 40 land count 30 of those need to be non basic lands that color filter bare minimum. Then a lot of added any color artifact cards to help you out with the four color mana. Just have to wait and see.
The lair lands aren't AWFUL. They are less than ideal, but it coming into play untapped is a real benefit. I just see them as being slightly worse than Ravnica bounce lands.
Now if every deck you have has a perfectly sculpted $500 mana base, then yeah they are really bad.
