Prophetic prism could see some standard play again. It's nothing fancy but it replaces itself, and fixes mana like it did before. This time around however being an artifact can matter both in play and in the yard. I like seeing it here.
Perpetual Timepiece looked interesting for delirium at first pre coffee glance, but it is a shame the second ability exiles it rather than sacrifices it.
Wearing a cape and a propeller-backpack at the same time seems like a really bad idea.
lol I was about to say how much I like the character in this art, and you have to go ahead and ruin it
I love all of these, even though the RTR prophetic Prism art is my fav

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
...I take it this means that a Whirler Rogue reprint would have been too good for this set?
Seems so.
Seriously, was it necessary to nerf Bonesplitter so hard?
I kind of understand the Whirler Rogue nerf - the density of artifacts here would make it über-powered. It worked in Origins, but here it probably had to be either more costly, or higher rarity....

Equipment appear to be tricky to do right, especially for limited. The developing vehicles article talks about it in good depth.
What may be an even bigger problem from balancing them correctly is that since we have high expectations for the power of equipment, seeing weaker versions is always going to feel kinda bad. Even if torch gauntlet is great in this set, trusty machete and darksteel axe will always be in your head and be sad.

The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
What's the most resilient parasite? An idea.
A single idea from the human mind can build cities.
An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules...
I think people would prefer a rare Whirler rogue than this.
For constructed, hells yeah!
But for limited, that would be a completely different card and serve a different purpose inside draft.

It's cute that Prophetic Prism is starting to follow a flavor text pattern where it says "To understand (plane where this block is set), one must first understand how (something relevant to this block works)."

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
