Haven't been able to try it yet, but BFZ already feels like it would be great for 2HG. Split your pool into Eldrazi stuff and Ally stuff and go at it. Imperial Mask doesn't feel like it goes on Zendikar, but maybe they can throw some stuff in that space in. Can't wait for the Constructed Spikes to start whining about that possibility...
Sounds like a lot of "each player/each opponent" type cards which are generally more expensive than single target cards; therefore less chance of seeing play in constructed formats.
Hopefully they'll use this as grounds to explore some fresh design space and do something interesting with the set
unlike bfz
Ingest and processors was new, but lacked the power push that we're used to within something like Khans or the original Zendikar block. This block was watered down.

Life is a beautiful engineer, yet a brutal scientist.
Spikes are gonna hate this. I can't wait to hear them lament about how they would have placed in the top eight had they not been paired up with some "scrub". Really tho, I don't know exactly how this is gonna work, and I assume they won't force you to play two-headed, but at the same time it sounds like it is encouraged. Can you play both decks by yourself, cuz I don't have any Magic playing friends?
Last time I 2HG'ed it was theros block and easily 3-0'ed with some of the sickest crap ever in 2HG namely scholar of athreos as a 4 of in my deck or something and that inspired guy who when he untapped did the same thing as scholar of athreos with regenerate. Games were never even close. Decks were so sick we weren't even splashing ephara, god of the polis and xenagos, god of revels. As for these two sets being designed to be very 2HG friendly we'll see. Pretty irrelevant since I don't remember 2HG ever being done outside prerelease.

I've been hoping they would make spells for "creatures your opponents don't control" in any potential Archenemy follow up, but it'd be cool for 2hg as well.
I'm skeptical of an Imperial Mask type card in a Standard set, but this sounds cool.
Don't be worried, we already know what the power level is going to be given BFZ. I'm awaiting Shadows over Innistrad.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
This sounds like it will be fun for the prerelease and then half the cards will be useless for play a few weeks afterwards when nobody wants to play 2HG limited.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

This might not be bad if they allowed "lord" abilities to no longer just affect your creatures, but your teammates critters as well. I always thought that the latest slivers should have considered team games like 2HG and said:
All allied slivers get +1/+1 (Creatures not controlled by your opponents are allied to you.)
That should work for both Standard releases and supplement sets.

Hello! LGS worker here. At our store, we run 2HG at least once a month, sometimes more. It is always scheduled ahead of time, so people know that a partner is required to play. Most people show up with a partner. Some people do come by themselves and hope that there is another lone player. If we see that there are multiple lone players, we will introduce them and they can pair if they want. But the vast majority of players come prepared with a partner and it's usually a non-issue. Hope that sheds some light on how 2HG tournaments work.

I play:

Theros Block / Anax & Cymede
Return to Ravnica Block / Vorel of the Hull Clade
Khans of Tarkir Block / Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest
Will they not be drafting Oath-Oath-Battle at the Pro Tour?
I'm sure the cards will be perfectly fine for normal limited play, and if your store decides, they can probably go ahead and do a normal "one-headed" tournament. (Or run both variants in parallel).
Oath of the Gatewatch is all about teamwork. It's designed to support Two-Headed Giant better than most any set in Magic history.
Make sure to schedule at least one Two-Headed Giant event.
What is this about? and will there be ways to do a two headed prerelease if you're not partnered up with someone before hand?
Since when "make sure to schedule AT LEAST ONE 2HG event" means "The prerelease must be 2HG"?
They are just saying that the set is designed with 2HG in mind more than other sets, and that NOT having a 2HG event could mean depriving players of intended experience.
Our LGS is doing both single and 2HG prereleases for I do not remember how long. They are published on the Facebook page and on the webpage of the store, and it is suggested you come with your other head, but it is not rare for people to come and pair on-site.
Seriously, why are you people making such a deal out of it?

Interesting.
I don't really play the format, but maybe this will produce some cool designs.

"Designed to support..." =/= "Do it or go home."
There will be plenty of lonely dudes playing at the prerelease, don't worry about that.
