Pyrostatic Pillar with legs that enables devotion for standard and adds redundancy for the eternal formats. The first card in Journey into Nyx that's got me excited. Awesome.
Pyrostatic Pillar grew some legs. Seems playable in standard and modern pretty easily, maybe some sideboard in legacy but getting nailed by creature removal is more relevant when you're actually trying to use it as a hate card.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

So I guess this confirms Wizards is in fact try to complete their unintentional cycle of powerful two drops. This is a potentially brutal tool for RDW in modern.
I hope so! If it hates Storm hard enough in the competitive scene they'll unban Seething Song in modern and I can put it back into my casual decks (I'm more competitive than my friends so I stick to the modern ban list for my casual decks). I doubt it will effectively hate out storm, though. In modern, at least, storm used to pack a decent amount of removal.

Does this card wreck storm in modern? I'm not if it works the way I think it does. But wow it seems really good.
No, it doesn't. You don't cast the storm copies, only the first spell. Mindbreak trap is a million times better against storm than this card is in any deck. This only pings them on the rituals and the initial card, and dies to every removal ever, so it's pretty easy to play around. This is a mediocre at best storm hate card.
Um, I think this will see play in Legacy and Modern....
It KILLS Storm OUT RIGHT.
Modern Storm will just kill it with something. Last I checked Modern Storm was fine with getting burned by its own Shocklands and Gitaxian probes so losing two life and a bolt in order to get rid of this shouldn't be an issue.
I don't know enough about Legacy Storm to say for certain but I believe they can side in a second Tendrils and survive off the lifegain from the first one even if they run no removal.
I think its really going to be brutal against decks that think they can grind out an advantage with efficient cards turn after turn.

Well that card is a giant middle finger to White Weenies if this is accurate.
It's likely to trigger on most of the spells its owner casts,
but I'm guessing that won't be an issue.

Gut says this could be an easy sideboard card in eternal formats. Am I wrong here?

I have 28 different EDH decks

Actually having both of those on the field at the same time would be hilariously painful.

It's on track to be better than Theros, IMO.
