Listening to the latest Limited Resources podcast right now (September 14th) and didn't see a thread for this yet:
Golgari Decoy :3mana::symg:
Creature - Elf Rogue
All creatures able to block Golgari Decoy do so.
Scavenge :3mana::symg::symg:
2/2
Uncommon
I'm looking at their site and don't see a pic (yet). I hope it's okay to post this without a pic. I'm getting this information straight from the podcast, roughly 1 hour 30 min into cast.
The latest batch of uncommons are great in limited, this is no different. Doesn't look very powerful but will play a big role in limited. Excited to see.
Yup, strictly better Prized Unicorn (except in Unicorn tribal decks).
interestingly, this might be a case where the term "strictly better" is actually literally true. if we discount Mindslaver and Meddling Mage-type effects (which we should since they suck) and tribal boosts which there are none of, I can't think of a single conceivable situation where you'd prefer the unicorn. (contrastingly, it's pretty easy to think of situations where Shock is preferable to Lightning Bolt and the like)

Uh, what? Lightning Bolt is "strictly better" than Shock, in a strict sense. Sure, there may be corner-cases where a weaker effect is more desirable, but that doesn't change the definition of "strictly better." If you wanted to get very technical, this is not "strictly better" than Prized Unicorn, because it's not a unicorn. It would only be Strictly Better if it were a Creature - Unicorn Elf.

It's Prized Unicorn (a perfectly acceptable solid limited card) but in a better tribe (Elf over Unicorn) and with a 3GG Scavenge ability. Sign me up. While i'd never exactly windmill slam it, I can't imagine being unhappy to run it any limited deck with green in it.
Can we get a confirmation from someone else who has watched the podcast please? It would be nice. I have added to the spoiler, but I did not watch the podcast myself. Since LR is trusted I went ahead and added anyway.
Also text confirmation... Shouldnt it be: All creatures able to block ~ do so, if able.

I was actually hoping for one of these to pop up in this set. Just wanted a legal cheap way to get mini phages through for ensured kills (of course minus threats of instants or abilities).
The card already has plenty of utility for green decks due to its first ability, and it's one that implies that the creature probably won't live long. Afterwards, if you need to get some extra damage in, you can use the Decoy's scavenge ability.
So, in this case, the scavenge ability is icing on the cake.
mortipede was incredibly meh in ravnica limited. this is no different.
Mortipede only had that effect if you paid an extra 3 mana, taking up most of a 2nd turn to get this effect. It is free this time, and you get a 2nd ability. It's not a 1st pick by any means, but you're rarely, if ever, cutting it.
The power level of this kind of creature is very format-dependent. Sometimes it is a defining common, like Shinen of Life's Roar or Deftblade Elite, sometimes it's just borderline playable like Mortipede. It really depends on a lot of factors - the speed of the format, the cost of the creature, the quality of auras and pump in the environment, the instant-speed removal available... really so much to discuss for a simple forum post.
This is a card that should have had Sadin's Limited Information devoted to it, rather than Grim Roustabout.
I think what makes this a solid pick in limited isn't that he himself has scavenge, but that it's in the same set/color with other creatures with scavenge. Imagine turning him into a 7/7 by scavenging that 5/5 dude. Ouch. Even making him a 5/5 with the 3/3 hasty dude can be really nasty and a potential lockdown. In this guild I feel like his utility is more as removal than as a method of alpha-striking. Although obviously he can do either.

Seems fine for an uncommon, especially for limited.

Engineered Plague set on Elf (Common creature type).
Never going to be sad to see this in my pool if I am green.
