The Cult of Rakdos has put a price on Dack Fayden’s head – and Maytov, the best thief in Ravnica, has come to collect. Now, Dack must fight for his life against an opponent more cunning than anyone he’s ever faced. Will Maytov succeed where even Sifa Grent has failed-and kill the Planeswalker Thief?
I'm pretty sure the tags for comic news can be IDW. I'm most interested in seeing the cover art as I have digital copies of the originals for most of the others already.
Once again a story tie-in to the upcoming block. Let's hope that Dack makes it onto a card this time around. (Especially considering Ravnica is his homebase.)

I don't think this will happen since Wizards wants to refrain from using him. I believe he was created just for the purpose of being a story walker that IDW can do with as they please.
I do think we'll get a card that is coming from the RTR Block however as the promo, ala Faithless Looting (Maybe even the Electrolyze too if we see some reprints.)
Red should be burn, Goblins, Dragons, draw/discard, and Standard-unplayable 5CMC cards with insane, lengthy effects that take 10 minutes to figure out what they do and another 20 to actually make their effects work on the field.

I think I'd rather have a Ral card. He looks like so much cooler of a planeswalker. Or... How about both?!
I have a strong feeling we'll be seeing a card version of Ral, mostly because artists often state specifically what a piece of art was done for, such as eric deschamps stating that his paintings which were seen as avatars in DotP 2013 were "commissioned for DotP 2013", however the art of Ral Zarek had no such indication, which suggests that he posted it due to the art being revealed by DotP 2013, however he couldn't actually state what it was commissioned for so as not to reveal spoilers.
It seems incredibly likely that, if a character like Gideon gets a card, a character so relevant to the (accessible) storyline will get one as well.
Not being able to connect Dack to the actual card game in any way is a pretty big marketing failure... If the card players look at the comics and go "There's my Planeswalker from my T2 deck", and the comic readers go "And hey, there's a card version of the guy from my comic...", the cross-pollination is almost literally free money for IDW and WotC.
I'd definitely expect a Dack card before we see a Ral card.

Speaking of anonymity....
I am a super secret foreign spy.
I can't tell you guys which country- that would ruin everything about my job.
Also that photo may or may not be me.
Trust me guys. I know lots of spy things.
I even said I am a spy so obviously I am a spy.
Am I the only one here that finds the comics really lacking? The exposition really takes away from the action, and the character art is really strange. I have just, in the last few months, gotten in to comics for the first time in my 38 years and compared to other books that I am following it just seems really lacking. I really think that it does not do justice to the flavor, though it is miles better than the novels.

It's not fair to base you opinion of comics in general on this series, because you are right that these totally lack any merit. The story is little more than him running around chasing another PW and every time it's inconveinient for him, he planeswalks. Zzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry I fell asleep.
As for the novels, there were some that we're good - the Thran, brothers war, andthe other 3 Urza ones are still a great read. Arena will always be my favorite because I read it first (and I thought it did the best attempt at trying to narrate what ante might look like). Anything written by Doug Beyer that's seen print is just abysmal. Noting that Doug was the lead on M13 - starting to wonder if his goal is to ruin the game once and for all.
And that guys head.... Wtf? Reminds me of Crovax a little.

No, you misunderstood me. I follow a few books right now* that I love, and I am finding new ones all the time. It is more like this comic fails so badly for me perhaps because I can see how amazing other books can be.
*various X-men, Saga, Locke and Key, Deadpool, Dial H, SECRET, Suicide Squad...to name a few.

Well, I started reading them with Kamigawa because I LOVED the setting and some of the races, but that only took me through one and a half books. I was shocked that I could not even finish the series considering how on-board I was for the flavor of Kami. Nothing written after that was enjoyable to read, IMO (ravnica, Plansewalker books). I tried to go back and read some older stuff, but I think my opinion is tainted now because they did not strike me as compelling. I have read my fair share of franchise books, and I know they can be hit or miss, but even the worst Star Wars book was decent enough for me to finish. Magic books have never met that same standard for me.
Overall though, licensed comics are never really that good for whatever reason. You get the odd ones though (Dark Horse's early Aliens, Predator & Star Wars books are an exception that springs to mind).
Yea, I gotta agree. I love Star Wars as a genre, and will put up with some junk for my fix, but not all the comics are good. I heard good things about Vector, so I picked it up and I could not get past the first few pages because the art was soooo bad- like sixteen year old fanboy with no talent bad. I would never have picked it back up, but I read some articles that stated that the art style changed after the first era, so I just skipped ahead.
Fandom is enough for some people to tolerate a product, but not me. I do not expect Magic comics that would be close to L&K, but there are plenty of decent indi-comics that I see that I like enough to drop some cash on- picked up a title called "It Girl" that was not amazing, but it was fun and worth reading.
