I've searched a decent amount and somehow haven't found any results on this site for this announcement. If someone else knows of another thread please reply with it.
And this is actually three separate releases. The first one, on November 16 (on Steam; other platforms will have other dates) consists of two 60-card decks with unlockable cards. Then there's another pair of decklists on December 14, and one on January 11. There will be ways to upgrade the decks to make them foil, but that, too, will vary by platform.
Also:
And now, on with the decklists! For November 16 (on Steam), there's March to War (a red-white Soldiers deck) and Ghoulkeeper (black Zombies).
I'm glad the 360 version isn't the one that's coming out on the 16th. My hard drive's busted, and it'll be a while till I can afford another one. Not being able to play with a Boros deck immediately would have made me sad.
I don't like that they called the RW deck a "Soldiers" deck. That implies some Soldier tribal effects; the deck has none. It has a couple of soldiers but mostly just weenies of various types. It looks like it might be pretty fun to play, though.
Also, I'm realizing that there won't be any character (planeswalker or otherwise) associated with each of these decks, it seems. Unusual.
I don't believe there are any cards with Cycling in Duels. There are some limits to what mechanics are or aren't used. An activated ability from the hand is one that probably wouldn't happen, just for consistency's sake with regard to "click card in hand = play that card."
Gravespawn Sovereign is certainly a possibility, but it's one of the less popular/well-known Zombie lords so I can see why it'd be left out.

Agreed; it seems like Gideon's deck does a much better job of filling the soldier role. I think his even has Captain of the Watch, which is the quintessential solider card.
I was pretty surprised to see March contain both 3 Path to Exile AND 3 Lightning Helix. Usually it seems like we only see 1-2 of the staple cards for the respective colors in a deck.
I was really hoping to see Figure of Destiny given the color match up, but I'm guessing the mechanics of it would have been tricky.
The Ghoulkeeper deck seems too close to Liliana's deck and less effective. There are a couple of decent unlocks, but it's mostly a lot of generic zombie creatures and a few graveyard hijinks cards.
I don't mean to troll guys, but I'm not very tech-savvy - with the recent Steam hack, is it 'safe' to be buying stuff like this off Steam just now?
I feel that the R/W deck is a little neither-here-nor-there - the zombie deck looks like it has a lot more focus, by comparison. Still, Boros was my first love in Ravnica, so I'm looking forward to both.
How so? Looks like Ajani's Pridemate indicates Ajani. The other could be Liliana, but they could give us another new Ral/Dack guy too.
There's already an Ajani deck in the expansion, and a Liliana deck. If these were connected to planeswalker characters they would just show them now when they announce them.

As safe or safer than anywhere else online.
Steam properly encrypted, salted, and hashed everyone's personal information and CCs. Nobody's credit card information was accessed in a manner that would allow thieves to decode them in a reasonable amount of time, and a second attack is unlikely as whatever loophole the hackers used has already been plugged.
New decks are cool, too. I'll probably pick both up if the DLC pricing is reasonable (a dollar for both, maybe two.)

I'd love to hear some additional thoughts on the matter, but thanks for the clarification :).
It's apparently $3 for both decks on Steam, which is exactly in the middle of the price range you're willing to pay :P.
Wizards has been extremely reasonable with the pricing of stuff in their newest game. The price of $10 was already lower than I'd expected when it was announced (I'd figured $15, like the first DotP), and the DLC added a lot of stuff for just $5. If the rest of the releases are $3 for both decks, that's incredibly fair. Not like certain other games...
I'm glad the 360 version isn't the one that's coming out on the 16th (or 17th, since XBLA tends to update on Wednesday). My hard drive's busted, and it'll be a while till I can afford another one. Not being able to play with a Boros deck immediately would have made me sad.

Since we knew about Ral and the others way ahead of time I thought they could have been held that back back, but they clearly don't have a planeswalker assigned to them. Since these are just new decks and not true expansions that's fine. It's much better than just giving a deck to legendary creature.
I hope they do another expansion though (I'd like to see Karn and Bolas decks at some point).

It's alright now. Remembered I had my old hard drive.
Judging by the fact that it's labeled (at least on Xbox Live) as "Magic 2012 Deck Pack 1", I think it's safe to assume they'll include more decks in the future (as well as them outright stating it). As to whether they'll include the "boss" decks, I rather doubt. The Karn deck at least seemed a bit overpowered to me, especially since he seemed to start every single game with a Turn 1 Mox Sapphire.
This pleases me greatly. The RW deck looks quite potent; it packs a lot of removal and it has some good beaters with evasion. I'm looking forward to a general strategy of "remove anything that flies or is immediately threatening, then swing with hawks or legionnaires with an axe or a standard." I'm very happy that they're giving at least two copies of relevant cards.
The B Zombies looks kind of boring, unfortunately. I suppose through the unlocks it gets a single copy of four different lords, which is cool and all. And it has plenty of recursion to keep bringing dead lords back (or Soulless One). I would have preferred fewer vanilla zombies, though.
Definitely getting it for PS3 for the RW deck. Maybe the B deck will grow on me.
I have to say, the RW deck beats face. With how creature-centric the game is, Soul Warden + Ajani's Pridemate absolutely demolishes. Those two plus a Recumbent Bliss on the field led to me having a 21/21 Pridemate and way too much life. I haven't played the Zombie deck yet, but make no mistake: the Boros deck is powerful.
Hey, I am on Steam and bought deck pack 1, only thing is that I can't get to the decks. Any ideas? I have looked in campaign and multiplayer and have no sign of them. It is relly beginning to frustrate me.

Same problem here... I guess we'll have to wait until they fix this.

I played the RW deck on Xbox Live and unlocked almost half the cards.
The deck plays differently from Gideon's mono-white deck, but it is powerful in its own right. However, the RW deck is not a pure soldier deck, as there are knights and beasts in the deck.
A key engine of the deck is definitely Ajani's Pridemate powered by Soul Warden + Lightning Helix + Conqueror's Pledge + Raise the Alarm + Sunhome Enfocer. If that engine isn't online, you attack with a bunch of Boros creatures. From the Shards of Alara block, you have Ceradon creatures with Vigilance and Haste. You also have Lightning Helix and Path to Exile for creature removal.
The fact there are multiple copies of Path to Exile and Lightning Helix makes the deck feel like an Event deck.

Yes, they are being released on December 14, and one on January 11. Somebody gave the deck names on Gamefaqs as, Forest's Fury, Trinity of Elements, Dark Heavens, and Beknighted. No source, so take it for what it's worth.

Just as we got Tezzeret, Nicol Bolas, and Sorin decks in the first DotP, I would expect them to make new deck lists. I'd like to see them do a Karn Deck with Splicers and golems, something very different than the "boss" version.
I expect we will get a deck based around transform cards or a werewolf deck down the line. I imagine they are waiting for more DFC cards to be printed first.

At first seeing only two Squad Hawks hurt my head, good to see the other pair is unlockable.
Sorry to break it to you, but it's out.

I can't tell you for sure if it's there or not, but it's not on Kotaku's list of PSN stuff for this week, so I'd say no. I'd say maybe next week.
