I'm not sure if this makes Xiahou Dun, The One-Eyed more or less likely. On the one hand, they're printing one of the fairly sought-after P3K legends, meaning that we know, at least, that P3K is fair game. On the other hand, what are the chances they'll print two? I guess with four Alara legends, greater than zero, so we'll see.

Personally, I almost see this as being called FtV:Commander's, in which case I'd also like to see some combination of new arts for:
Uril
Doran
Mayael (Actually, what I really here want is that full art alter that was on starcity the other day)
Oona
Azusa
Azami
Zur
Hanna, Ship's Navigator
Hokori
Jhoira
Memnarch
Momir Vig
Phage (yeah, phage-torpor orb.edh - it has to be done)
Tolsimir Wolfblood
Thrun (he's knew, but I want him double foiled for my trollsword edh)
Uyo
That's 16, cut phage for realistic usefulness and Tolsimir, add the ISD promo and that's my FTV wishlist.
Ok... tiny lie, what I actually want is a double foil sliver queen, but that's not gonna happen. If I could pick one promo to get in double foil and never get another, queen would be it. Goddamn reserve list.
You're not kidding. Back when we first started EDH just after Zen came out one of the more cutthroat players at our store bought up a pretty harsh Sun Quan EDH list (this was back when we'd only been playing a month or so, so we were cobbling together from what we had). Only time any of us beat it was when I managed to get a luminarch ascension under everyone's radar in 8 player on turn 2 so that I could start hitting back with angels on turn 4.
The thing is, "All your creatures are unblockable" is hardly insane. I mean, Deepchannel Mentor says close to the same thing in Monoblue, but I've yet to see anyone bother to play him.
I wonder if there's going to be any attempt to balance colors in the set- say 2 legends in each color and 5 gold ones or somesuch?

All cards are black bordered and tournament legal. This means that these cards are legal for use in any tournaments where the original printings are still legal. For some cards, it is their first time with a black border.
It says some cards, so that should mean at least 2.

it really does put things into perspective. Why is Sun Quan considered playable when the Mentor isn't?
I always thought that P3K was part of the Reserved List.
If not, they should make a From the Vault: Power 15(they can pick whatever other 5 cards they want). Vintage players will cry, but who cares about them, this way vintage tournaments could actually happen ever.
I'm glad that they're printing sun quan. It means that maybe me not being able to sell Xiahou Dun, The one eyed yet might be a good thing. At least his value won't tank
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.

Mostly because of the artifacts.
He also plays well as an extra legend in another commander's deck... take a U/G general, have Sun Quan about, and those Saproling hordes get really, really ugly.
Sun Quan strikes me as one of the safest of the P3K legends to reprint- even if he loses half his value, a person owning them only loses about 10-15 dollars. Xiahou Dun losing half his value would leave much more of a sting, and I'm thinking that's a particular beehive they'll try to avoid.
Honestly, ANY of the other ones wouldn't leave the sting, even if they printed several... only Hua Tuo, Honored Physician even approaches about half the going rate of Xiahou Dun.
I know Wizards doesn't try to dabble in the secondary market, but putting Xiahou Dun in the box would be an INCREDIBLY bold move, and given how they've acted with the reserve list, Wizards and Hasbro seem to be very, very risk-averse in such matters.
Well, at least it is sought after, unlike some other FtV legends.
He is $25.
Foil Kiki-Jikis are $60
Foil Progenitus are $40
Foil Rafiqs are $12
Foil Teferi's are $10
That seems like they are picking "sought after" cards to me. Granted I feel like FTV:Alara is a blown opportunity, the financial value of this set should shape up nicely for those that can get them.

I agree. P3K feels so far away from Magic... I wish they would print something else instead... = /
