Last page of the PAX booklet. Wasn't sure if anyone had posted this already. You can clearly see that Sorin and Gideon have replaced Liliana and Ajani. Sorry about the quality...iphone pic.
Woot! I agree with both changes. Wish they had a better Red walker than Chandra though (Koth?). Wonder if Chandra, Garruk, are Lorwyn version or if there will be new versions of them. I guess it's possible.
Unusual that they would (I know not confirmed) replace originals, but it makes sense as Lily and Ajani are never played. Makes sense to print walkers more people are interested in and are willing to buy.
But it looks like Sorin, Jace, Gideon, Ajani, and Chandra. There's no green 'walker.
The guy in the back on the right is Garruk, not Ajani.

I also like to imagine that he has a rotating torso (like a metallic graft that fuses his upper and lower body together), so he can spin all around, leveling everything within 20ft of him to rubble.
Hmm. Interesting. I'm glad that Sorin and Gideon are in M12. I'd much prefer them to Liliana and Ajani. Though it makes me wonder that of all the mono-white PWs, they chose Gideon over... say, either of the Elspeths. I guess two Elspeths in the same format would be a little too much, but then again, there's been two different Jaces for a while...

Wow. Didn't see this coming. Didn't Wizards carry on about how they would always keep the neo walkers around, because each one of them best represented their color?
New Arts, Different Faces, My bet is 5 new planeswalkers in the Titan slot to sell the set.
Exactly my thoughts. Plus, this allows for more of the tension of the same Planeswalker rule when building decks for casuals. I can't really see either Chandra or Jace getting a reprint of either of their past two forms, since V1s are out for new forms if it's universal, nobody cared about Chandra V2 and Jace V2 was so obnoxious it'd be a punch to the gut to see it again.
Most interested in Garruk 2.0, though. We need a new Green walker that isn't elfcentric.

Wizards is really good at eating their words if focus groups tell them otherwise. If they got a ton of feedback from their efforts that told them that Sorin and Gideon were far more interesting characters according to players and that players wanted to see more of them before Ajani, Liliana, and Elspeth, then WotC might definitely decide to alter the core set a bit to try and cater to the people it wrings money out of.
Yep, as I thought. Both versions of jace look very similar so its hard to tell them apart but I suspect the old walkers are on the right side and the new ones to the left.
If there were 10 walkers in the set, that would be terrible. Like just 5 in one set is a lot but 10? Seems very unlikely. And they would have to be powerful walkers at that.
EDIT: @Zeri: Faith's fetters is what you're talking about I wish they would reprint that card that card is sweet.

It would be amazing for standard to get 5 new planeswalkers, one of each color, all aggressively costed, at the same time.

Old, sparsely updated because of above: Trade with me!
Weirdly, standard has been BAD since JTMS was banned, it hasn't been fun, nor healthy since.
There is a striking resemblance.

Provided they also make an acceptable answer to walkers since hexmage will be rotating and that leaves what counters.
Like maybe an arrest that can go on permanents but doesn't stop mana abilities.
