5/5 common split.
Uncommons and rares are 'grouped together'. There could be 1 rare and 3 uncommons, 1 uncommon/1rare and 2 uncommons, but never 3uncommons/1rare and nothing from the other faction.
In easier terms, one faction never gets 'shut out' of uncommons/rares. Sometimes they 'lose' by 3-1, but always are represented.
Could very well be what mbsfuturedrafter was on about. Neat!

This is still just the 3rd pack though, so it doesn't seem to change too much in draft.
Its actually going to be the first pack, so it will be extremely relevant. Remember, with MBS we start with the small sets first. So you automatically know what the guy to your right is drafting (faction wise at least)
Interesting. So "good" drafters will arrange themselves so they won't be next to people in the same faction.
What?
Read the rumor again.
Every pack has 5 mirran commons, 5 phyrexian commons. If the rare is mirran, the uncommons are phyrexian. If the rare is phyrexian, the uncommons are mirran.
Also, sanctioned drafts should have random seating...

What I mean is that good drafters will be able to tell which faction the people sitting next to them are in after a few picks., and "arrange" their picks to be in the other faction, if possible.
It has nothing to do with seating! He's talking about sending a signal in draft.
Yeah. I just read his explanation. That's fine I guess. Though I do find myself tipping into the other faction a bit a Scars Scars Scars draft. Granted that set was only 80/20 split so going Phyrexian is still a bit of a disadvantage with the relative scarcity of Phyrexian cards in the last 2 packs.
Right as a matter of fact unless the first pick was a tez or a foil I would be able to instantly tell if the person to my right picked a mirrian or card or not. Combined with print runs and it gets much simpler to tell what they are in.
ie all the card missing is uncommon and the other uncommons are mirrian. So the guy next to me is in mirrian.

Plenty of Mirran cards work with a Phyrexian-oriented strategy, though. In Scars you have equipment to boost the power of your infect guys, or Panic Spellbomb to stop a blocker, or more removal if you need it. You aren't forced to stick with just one side or the other, you can use whatever you want from both factions.
It has 6 Mirran commons (Ardent Recruit, Mirran Spy, Treasure Mage, Divine Offering, Training Drone, and Silverskin Armor) and 3 Phyrexian commons (Flayer Husk, Phyresis, Phyrexian Digester).
The uncommons all appear to be Phyrexian (Skinwing and Vivisection definitely are, Shriekhorn sounds Phyrexian to me, but YMMV), but the Rare (Consecrated Sphinx) is also Phyrexian.
It has a foil card of unknown affiliation (Quilled Slagwurm, probably Mirran).
So, both assertions (5/5 split of commons across Factions, rare is from a different faction from uncommons) are incorrect for this pack (if it is a real pack).

Do we know for sure they are all from the same pack? If the person who posted them has access to multiple packs they can easily pick and choose whatever cards they want and call it a "pack." For whatever reason they would have to do so...
But I don't know what the reliability of the rumor is in the first place. It seems quite plausible, though.

Factions are not as strong a signal as people are making them out to be. e.g. Getting passed a Phyrexian Juggernaut doesn't mean anything other than someone upstream from you is stupid. A lot of the phyrexian cards will play nicely enough with mirran cards that I doubt this will be much of an issue.
The pack shown in this thread would seem to contradict this rumor:

Yep. If you're playing blue, Vedalken Anatomist is a pretty good pick no matter which "faction" you are pulling most cards from. There aren't just two archetypes that use only one faction or the other, you can mix and match to your heart's content.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
This is really lame for collectors and for sealed deck. I want the rare I get to actually WORK with my other cards, ideally. I'm not real happy with this.

1 Basic land
5 Mirran commons
5 Phyrexian commons
3 uncommons, all Mirran or all Phyrexian
1 Rare/Mythic, of the faction opposite the uncommons
I have no idea if this info is reliable. Just reporting.
EDIT: More accurate info.

He'll probably just take the place of either a Mirran or Phyrexian rare.
