Wow...Extended just got a lot less...extended (more implications of a new format?). Looks like the shocks rotate out a lot sooner than expected.
The good ol' days of TPS/LOR Standard comes back--extended. More Faeries, more Jund, more Finks, more everything, more Pickles, more Naya, more everything.
Hypergenesis: Good riddance.
Sword of the Meek: Not surprised.

Yeah, Time Spiral block will be in for 3 months.
On another note, I'm glad I kept my Bitterblossoms.
It's a little early for a response but.....I think that killed Extended for me. Just got my playset of Jittes too.

Regarding Stoneforge Mystic
Quote from oranges2 »
This guy, would either eat up several turns worth of mana to get a slow permanent that relies on your already have some board presence (after wasting said mana), or dies without generating any advantage.
Damn... and I just bought a set of Entomb to build Legacy Reanimator, only to see Mystical Tutor get banned in Legacy. That's a bit of a kick in the teeth, but oh well.
New Extended is irrelevant to my interests, but could be the harbinger of that "super Extended" that was talked about a while back.

This completely blew me away. Good lord, an entire year's worth of cards removed each fall? I can't even imagine what the heck is going to go on with the format now.
heres an off the wall idea since they are taking duals away from extended do yall thing its possible we will be seeing the enemy newer enemy duals in m11 or scars?
Insanely good opportunity to grab up your shocks now before the new format is announced. If there's a month between the two announcements, you might be able to get 35% off the current value within that period.
Hopefully they do it soon, because not being Extended season right now means everything pre-Time Spiral takes a huuuge hit in prices. People are going to be upset.

I'll hold myself to this. I'll get fancy dishes and everything.
This...is really surprising. Combo taking a hit by losing Mystical Tutor is good, I suppose, but I really wish LED would have gone back on the list instead. It and Infernal Tutor's synergy are far more powerful than Mystical Tutor.
I'm surprised they killed Thopter Foundry and Hypergenesis with a ban rather than wait it out, as neither have much time left.
Also does anyone see this Extended change as a set-up for Overextended? Or do they just want to make Extended an even more boring format than before? Not really excited for Overextended unless Wizards has a mile-long ban list.
So are some of the money cards like Dark Depths & Jitte gonna take a big hit in value??? Wat GREAT timing when I just got my last Jitte to complete my playset!?!? What abt Tarmogoyf??

And ban-hammer to Hypergenesis and Sword of the Meek.

Faeries + Jund + 5 Color Control = I'm scared.
Glad I sold my goyfs though!

Although, I really like this size of the card pool for this format.
And au revoir to Dark Depths!

I agree that Extended as super-Standard is probably actually better than Extended as it is now.
