wow drastic revalation went from playable to unplayable by being random 3. What BS. Wizards sucks at making playable interesting cards that hug the edge of brokeness. it should be 4 and discard hand, draw 7, discard 3. Angers me
The whip is amazing. Completes the cycle of great allied color equipments in this set. Bird is decent for limited and Drastic is as bad as I expected from the beginning. Wait, no, it is even worse with the random discard. Gentlemen, meet the crap rare of the set.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Drastic revalation is not entirely unplayable. it seems every forgot those are girxis colors. Which means you have access to un-earth. So its not a complete disadvantage.
I like the whip, but I'm still not sold on its playability.
Try it on hasty creatures, unearth creatures, or fear creatures. They seem to be the most abusive.
I think unearthing Hellspark later in the game and pumping him up 3-4 times seems pretty good. And laying down a Lightning Reaver and equipping next turn sounds nasty. It also seems good to counter the high defense of Naya decks.

No offense its terrible, at 4/no random it would of opened the door to older formats and it was the one card that really had me excited in this set. It was playable in t2 even at 5... Goblin Lore is straight up better
It's templated with X instead of 1 because you'd never need to do it one at a time because it doesn't boost toughness so you don't need to worry about it being killed in response.
The first spoiling of Revelations was too good to be true. Draw 7 cards and discard three cards of your choosing for just 4 mana? I don't care about a discard three cards clause, because drawing 7 cards like that so effortlessly from your deck is broken. Card drawing is the most powerful ability in the game, and Wizards pretty much was forced to tag some nerf onto the card to keep it from being another degenerate card drawing engine.

Discard your hand. Draw seven cards, then discard three cards at random.
Every disaster holds mystery, for lack of sane witness.
Sorry, no Megrim combo lol
Talon Trooper is boring, and at 2/3 is pretty decent.
Drastic revelations is sickeningly... fun.
And that equipment seems crazy.
Thanks to .toRRent for the sig!
Demonspine whip is kind of cool...

I'd say they are trying to provoke nostalgia for Howl from Beyond, and whatever its red equivalent is.

It's Enrage. Wizards has moved the Howl from Beyond effect to red ever since they came out with Enrage in Scourge back in '03.
I was also hoping it would be target player for Megrim/Underworld dreams fun, but no dice.
Thanks for the update regardless!
The other two are nice limited cards. That bird makes me want to draft a u/w deck that is almost all flying creatures
