A french MTG thread posted a couple possible cards and also some info about the blade hybrid mana creature cycle. If the two cards posted are true, then we can solidify the blade cycle as such...
Naya Hushblade :symrw::symg:
Creature - Elf? (C)
As long as you control another multicolored permanent, Naya Hushblade gets +1/+1 and has shroud.
2/1
Grixis Grimblade :symru::symb:
Creature - ?? (C)
As long as you control another multicolored permanent, Grixis Grimblade gets +1/+1 and has deathtouch.
2/1
Bant Sureblade :symug::symw:
Creature - Human Soldier? (C)
As long as you control another multicolored permanent, Bant Sureblade gets +1/+1 and has first strike.
2/1
Esper Stormblade :symbw::symu:
Artifact Creature - ?? Common
As long as you control another multicolored permanent, Esper Stormblade gets +1/+1 and has flying.
2/1
The names seem to fit the mechanics quite well and they seem perfectly fine to me. Also, Stormblade is the nuts in limited.
i wonder what the mana costs are.
i searched all those blade names in the orb and each blade name appears twice. maybe once in the name and once in the text
EDH/Commander is a social format, right? So why don't people use their social skills to discuss what they like and don't like, instead of adopting a list with 60+ banned cards?
If all your creatures are multicolored, it essentially says, "If you control another creature" Not bad. Even works with the borderposts, which as discussed before, are almost essentially CIPT lands.
I can't help but feel disappointed. With Jund Hackblade having Haste, you're under pressure to get another multicolored permanent before he comes out, which combo's perfectly with the Borderposts in limited. I thought this was going to be a cycle of rewards like that, for doing the impossible in a set with no multicolored one-drops. Like citp abilities, or Exalted, or even Reach to point out you can still defend with them.
Maybe I was just hoping they would finally liken haste to a citp ability.
Excellent limited cards, and I think also potentially constructed possible for aggro builds. I love me some 3/2 first strike, and 3/2 fliers for 2 are just hot.

So what was the reasoning behind linking the abilities with the colours? I mean, Stormblade (and earlier Hackblade with haste) makes sense with flying in white, blue, and black, but the rest?

Wait, so you were expecting that Hackblade was the /worst/ of its cycle? 0_o I'm afraid you cannot blame anyone but yourself for setting your own expectatives too high. Hackblade is already excellent and so is the rest of the cycle.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

When did I say that? I was just hoping that you would be rewarded for having a gold permanent in play before playing any of the cards in the cycle.
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
WotC clearly wanted to balance out multicolored limited by having very efficient two drops (a la Steward of Valeron cycle, pro-bears, and now Shard blades) to counteract 5 color control.
I am simply loving this cycle. I can see myself using all of them at some point, and they play absurdly well with the Posts.
Thanks to Alara Reborn, we're reaching a critical mass of 2-mana GW common creatures that can deftly wield Shield of the Oversoul. With Qasali Pridemage, Naya Hushblade, and Bant Sureblade joining up with Steward of Valeron, Valeron Outlander, and Safehold Elite, and backed with cards like Sigil Blessing and the GW borderpost, standard pauper GW beatdown sure looks fantastic.

Heck, I'm looking at Bant Sureblade and Esper Stormblade to join up with Deft Duelist and Meddling Mage, backed up with Runed Halo and bounce/removal effects to create a kind of simple UW Stompy-type aggro-control deck, along with Ardent Plea as a 2-drop enabler and additional punch engine. All these guys, and the previous Hackblade, are all good.

Every guy is good here. They are 3 colours so they trigger mimics from shadowmoore
(like shorecrasher mimic in bant aggro!) and the GRW one goes straight into the Uri the Mistalker deck. I could even see these as borderline cards in extended beatdown decks if the conditions are right.

Methinks they're also possible to be 2/2.

Not dieing to ping sounds good enough to me.
Or removal for the Naya blade. Or being a solid blocker for the Bant and Grixis Blades.
The Esper blade doesn't need the pump right away, but that...doesn't make it bad.

Once the enchantment lands on him he becomes a 5/4 flying indestructible shroud. That's not too shabby.
