Nothing in this game is degenerate or completely dominant. They haven't banned anything in standard in a long, long time. Hell they should have banned affinity right away, but they didn't until boxed sales collapsed too. Hasbro had to come in and fire people.

Yes, yes it does. That is a lot of added flexibility for no additional cost.
Yeah, in magic a little goes a long way. The ability to tap down a Darksteel Colossus, while drawing a card, is just gravy. Being able to kill BDWs Savannah Lion and Grim Lavamancer in one fell swing is nice as well. Just the Fire side would be a playable card, but add the versatility of Ice and you have pure perfection.
It can also be imprinted on the scepter, and pitched to force of will.
I am afrade I have to set aside all casual and johnny tendencies for a month to get a playset of these.

It helps if you win if not then you are betting on getting the door prize, which is a big gamble. Taking 1st 2nd or 3rd is a sure bet. I'll be getting a playset of these for sure.

Awwwww yeah... now that's what I'm talking about for a promo! This will go for a good price. I'll be home for December so I can go to Neutral Ground for an FNM or two.

I still can't fanthom why these promotions aren't held online. Is isn't hard to do online and would be very nice for people who actually don't or have stopped playing paper magic.
Instead, the online promotions are limited to the boring and badly rendered avatars (might change a bit in version 3.0) that usually have almost no significance.
Wizards, if you read this, bring paper promotions to online; Textless cards, FNM foils, etc.
I've also been advised that Firebolt will be the February FNM card, so thus far from what I know, we get Fire//Ice for December, Deep Analysis for January and then Firebolt for February.
