This is the "Finals" tab on Magic Online. The other 7 tabs are (in order):
Loxodon Peacekeeper
Shadowmage Infiltrator
Tradewind Rider
Meddling Mage
Avalanche Riders
Chromescale Drake
Sylvan Safekeeper
(above image)
It would make logical sense for it to be Maher's art, but that isn't positive.
Reprints :biggrin3: .
Since when was Loxodon peacekeeper, chromescale drake, and if im not mistaken Tradewind rider a Invitiational card?
The art does kinda have the look of a small-ish black creature, but still, im unsure that its the invitiational cards art.

well, all of the other invitational arts is in there if im not mistaken except solemn, which means that we have no clue what the last image could be besides him being overwhelingly probably black.

Well, we're also missing Kai. But yes, I agree that it's probably black.

just think of it as Ankh (you know... an Ankh) More Pork, Ian. That's how I remember it :tongue2: (without the e, anyway)
That's how to remember my name. Or, you could just read the Discworld Novels by Terry Pratchett. I recommend the second method.:)

And dear god, it's on the INTERNET! It has to be true!
...riight.
Definitely maher's pic, its black and it looks similiar to him, also theres 5 other invitational cards there(only missing kai/voidmage and chris/solemn), nice find bradleyjx.
This pic reminds me of the borg. Has Star Trek come to magic? Well no but anyway, a borg like race would be cool. Of course don't listen to that because I think it looks like a race from a science fiction show.
I could see it as Maher. Wrinkled and old but it could easily be him.
Wait, wait, wait... are you comparing that picture of Mahr and the picture at the top with the Green guy? Er... there is no resemblance whatsoever between those two pictures. I must be confused, are you refering to another picture somewhere else?

I see some resemblance. The picture of Maher isn't a profile - if it were you might be able to see the resemblance a little better. He has an angular face which does resemble the image in the original post. It isn't Jens for sure (that was eerily accurate artistry) but I do see it.
Maybe going forward they are moving toward using the submitter as a base for the art instead of trying to capture photo-realism in the card.
What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
The pics you have of maher now do him an injustice. His head is much larger in real life than in those pics. Imagine watermelon. Anyways, could be his card.
<Edit> Just saw the Dark Confident pic and this thread's pic is definately not it.
ok . somone took a pic of the Rav inv card at E3 and did not take pics of the rest of the 9th art and rav art ...... oh why oh why did I not take a camera .....or even the 9th and Rav mouse pads.
again may i recomend Greven? it would be nice to see him in a core set........well any legend really........like sisay, hanna, kahmal, akroma.........*remembers the good ol days*.......

Guildmaster Jarad
edit - Compare the nose, chin, ear, widow's peak. . .
it looks more 3-d then the rest of greven's looks
