This idea was kind of amusing to me at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I wondered if it could be viable.
How about running Serrated Arrows in Workshop sideboards? So many creatures in this format - including the most powerful three - have 1 toughness. Having a copy in play makes Dark Confidant unplayable, prevents Snapcaster Mage from being a chump blocker, and seriously reduces the impact of Thalia, Guardian of Thraben.
Even 2 toughness creatures don't last long against it, and you will have an extra shot left over after gunning down a hate bear or whatever.
You can of course hold it back as surprise removal, but you can also easily sneak it under Gaddock Teeg on the first or second turn.
Seems reasonable if you are in a creature heavy environment. Way back in the mists of time, it seems that some Workshop builds did run it. Triskelion does a good job of copying it's effects and swinging for damage in the meantime.
There's nothing strange about using Serrated Arrows in workshop sideboards. I personally consider it the best anti-creature Workshop card available. I like it better than Triskelion because a.) it can permanently weaken creatures even if it doesn't kill them and b.) it costs 2 mana less than Trisk - even with Shop mana, 2 mana can mean the difference between killing a Dark Confidant or Thalia early enough to stop them from generating board advantage or it being too late to matter. And if you run Triskelion in the maindeck, say, and you have 2-3 Arrows in the sideboard, it makes it basically impossible to beat your deck with the Hate Bear / Human Caverns strategies.
I've considered playing this in Legacy MUD .
Though I think I might start playing Legacy LOL and play Vintage instead.
I wanted to start attending Vintage tournaments and playing without Tangle Wire and Smokestack so that I don't have to do stack nonsense, for now .
Could do worse. People have played darkblast in vintage before sure I wouldn't run arrows outside shops but that's because shops makes more mana than any other deck in the format except perhaps storm. Could do much worse. Homelands wreck vintage? Well merchant scroll would with gush and gifts legal as a 4 of but then again homelands is merchant scroll + serrated arrows + other cards I can't remember other than baron sengir and joven's ferrets.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
My board is fairly stacked against creatures though. 2 of Tabernacle and Dismember and 1 of Triskelion and Duplicant.
Granted, as of now I have yet to deal with Mentor, Caltrops will likely go away once I have to. As of right now though, I find it a good answer to the Swarm decks I have to deal with locally.

When not in use, you can tap it for Tangle Wire.
So... purely funny idea? Or is Homelands gonna wreck Vintage?

StaffCaltrops only hits things that attack, which means it can't kill stuff like Dark Confidant or Thalia when you really need to.
