basically there are lots of artifact infect creatures, so why not split them out fast with workshop? whats the obvious deck to pair with worshop? Stax.

Even in mono brown stax.... Phyrexian Juggernaut seems really expensive for vintage. I definitely wouldn't want to start with 4 of him.
maybe not too expensive as it can land in turn 1-2 if you have workshops. and its a 2 turn clock if the opponent does not have creatures.
but i may disagree with the other creatures mentioned other than Phyrexian Juggs. the absence of lodestone golem and metalworker is a "uh where? where is it?" frustration.
Phyrexian juggs can be viable with staxx or MUD deck, with proper playtest and tweaking. you might come up with a better build.

In that case, we should probably also run blightsteel colossus then, because sometimes you'll draw four workshops.
In all seriousness, it can be tricky to get out leyline/helm in a deck with 4 shops, 4 dark rits, and power. And leyline/helm is 5 mana to win the game.
I feel like everyone in vintage right now is running 4 wasteland 1 strip mine, so a creature that needs two workshops to be good seems pretty silly. Otherwise it's coming out on... turn 4? If we're generous and moxen are involved, turn 3?
Every shop deck I've ever seen will kill you on turn 3 or 4 if they draw two workshops. They'll dump their whole hand, and one edict or force of will won't stop the beats. Tapping out for a six drop seems pretty subpar.
I'd personally cut the juggernauts for 3 null rod and a pithing needle.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."
I played my Tezzbola vs a infect deck that used workshop. It ran all the small infect guys and Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and Underground Sea with some typical blue spells, but no counters. Then a bunch of artifact mana. Oh, plus Dark Confidant. You might want to try something like that out. Tezz ability to make your infecters 5/5 is really key.
why run smokestack in this list? it's not a beater and will not likely clear the path as well as other options. there aren't many choices in monobrown, but i don't think stax itself is the proper card for this list.

I strongly disagree with you. Steelhellkite has been played as a four of in some top 8 builds, while duplicant, sundering titan, triskelion, wurmcoil engine, and myr battlesphere are also seen in 1 and 2 ofs as well. 6 mana is not very hard to come by in mono brown, maybe in red where you dont get ancient tombs and cities, but here, its definately playable.
This deck is cute, but as mentioned before it may make more sense to simply keep the juggernauts, cut the rest, and go with a traditional stax build. But keep testing and keep tweaking, and let us know how the deck plays out. It does look pretty cool.
Some cowbell that could help are more (are more I like that):
+2-4 Tangle Wire
+3-4 Goblin Welder
+4 Null Rod
+3-4 Bazaar of Baghdad
X Mountains maybe Uba Mask
maybe some Inkmoth Nexus maybe Mental Mistep and or Surgical Extraction
maybe more Crucible of Worlds
As to why, well I think having Plague Myr doesn't help all that much first off he has the same power as both Necropede and Ichorclaw Myr unblocked. Secondly tapping for one mana isn't terribly that much, there are other cards for greater, if needed mana acceleration. Without Plague Myr Null Rod wouldn't hinder any of your cards, perhaps a mix of one of the two; two being Chalice of the Void.
Both Ichorclaw Myr and Necropede can give your opponent one poison counter they both have abilities that can suppress creatures. I might up the necropede count if there were a large percentage of creature based strategies in the meta I participate in, especially if those creatures were Dark Confidant or other utility creatures. Ichorclaw Myr is more cumbersome to a Tarmogoyf, or other big creatures if they happen to be present.
Smokestack while useful, takes longer to shine in a match, than say Tangle Wire would.
Bazaar of Baghdad and Goblin Welder are like the duo of Robot Unicorns prancing, and dieing a fiery death as the awesome song Always by Erasure plays simultaneously. I especially think Goblin Welder is good, for you have increased shenanigians utilizing Necropedes and Corpse Cur with the Welder. On the same token you may encounter increased hate via graveyard hate.
Inkmoth Nexus could be become pretty crazy with a well timed Crucible of Worlds, great for (slowly) killing (big) creatures if any and the evasion is nice.
Uba Mask hurts most decks, can create a lock if circumstances are right. Plus Goblin Welder likes to play with this thing.
Then playing around with Mental Mistep could be interesting although it would be 2 life per cast. Surgical Extraction may be more than a dead duck in some metas in games 1-3.
I don't play Vintage, yet I like the deck and metagame conceptual faces of the format. Good luck I hope this helps.

I like Vintage, then Legacy or Elder Dragon Highlander, Cube, 40 card minimum decks, Pauper, casual
What about instead of having the ante cards banned the word "ante" would become a reminder thing like "Domain-" meaning: "Exile the top card of your library face down. Your opponent may play this card as though it had flash and without paying it's mana cost." It kind of keeps the spirit.
4 City of traitors
2 ancient Tomb
1 tolarian academy

4 Necropede
4 Icorclaw Myr
4 Plague Myr
4 Phyrexian Juggernaut
