I've been lurking around quite a bit and been wondering about including playsets of thoughtseize and duress into a TPS hybrid deck ive been planning.
My question is whether it is slot effective to include both or have slight variation of the number of duress/thoughtseize like effects.
Since thoughtseize obviously more utility over duress.
should i go 4/4 or should do like a split of 3/4 or 4/2?

I don't always play Magic, but when I do, I play Vintage.
Unless you are playing pure card denial then a full set of both would probably be overkill. That or if your deck is designed around them in some fashion.
Having said all that, 8 cards in your deck that have but one purpose which is disabling tricks isn't a bad thing if your deck can handle it. Only you will know that.
4/2 is probably the most I'd go ever unless I was literally playing a card denial deck...
It depends on what your hybrid is with. TPS when it was popular ran only 4 duress and 4 force as protection, some builds also ran 1-2 misdirection. It really depends and what you want your disruption to do. If you want to disrupt your opponents proactive gameplan I would not run less than 8pieces. whether that be size, duress or therapy. the 4-6 pieces are enough if you want to attack the blue dec
