heres the exact up to date text. heres where i got it form.
Time Vault comes into play tapped.
Time Vault doesn't untap during your untap step.
If you would begin your turn while Time Vault is tapped, you may skip that turn instead. If you do, untap Time Vault. : Take an extra turn after this one.
well we were bolth wrong, i missed something.
This is the correct wording of Time Vault as per Gatherer:
If anyone talks about the rules change again on this thread, I will give them an infraction. This is ridiculous.
The currecnt oracle text reads as follows: Time Vault comes into play tapped.
Time Vault doesn't untap during your untap step.
If you would begin your turn while Time Vault is tapped, you may skip that turn instead. If you do, untap Time Vault. : Take an extra turn after this one. Which is what valentine posted. This change was done on september 24th, and in fact there was a thread about it. The implications of this change mean that time vault can be untapped by means such as twiddle or voltaic key or tezzeret without skipping a turn.
This being said, discussion on tezzeret should not even be in this thread. This thread is for the discussion of Drain Tendrils. Tezzeret has its own thread, which you may post in, or you may create another thread for a more specific tezzeret based list.
Specificly at Shacklemagic and Valnetine1: You are really trying my nerves. Valentine1 in particular, you need to start using proper grammar or I will start giving you warnings. Both of you need to stop bickering like children and think logically.
I apologize to every one for being a nuisance. Any ways I’ve done some testing with Ad Nauseaum and I think its good but I personally would rather play Yawgmoths Bargain.
Yawgmoth's Bargin is a Grim~Long type of card. For that matter Ad Nauseam is a whole different concept for those that know the differance between the two.
I like to use Ad Nauseam at the end of my opp's turn for max payouts, but that changes ofcourse if I get a fat drain pulled off on their turn as well.
I was thinking that too if it can add more copies to storm for each time you repeat the proccess. I have to find that info out myself.
It doesn't. You're not playing Ad Nauseam again every time you reveal your top card any more than you're playing Chain of Vapor again every time you're sacrificing a land. It's still just one spell.

I am no longer on MTGS staff, so please don't contact me asking me to do staff things. :|
Good to know Binary, and thanks for that info. I understood the Chain of Vapor, but with all the new cards out and mechanics it just makes you wonder what you can do/can't do {I have to admit I should have never thought that one up, but sometimes like I said a mind wonders}.
Now I'm very interested to hear what Maggical is meaning when he says it might be able to do more with it.............hmmm
I've been doing some testing with it and in my oppinion its kind of expensive. But I would like to add that if you have the mana and drop it E.O.t. on your opponent you will almost always win next turn.
I personally feel there's nothing slow about a card that can net you 13 cards in a deck that's not ment to win fast like drain~tendrils.
Example I just incountered:,
Turn 4, and keep in mind this would be turn 5 on my following turn.
End of my opp's turn I cast Ad Nauseam.
Opp forces and smiles, so I force back with a chuckle knowing I have a green like to place my foot anywhere I want from this point on {the added comments are for effect}
I reveal and repeat the following, so try to stay with me ok members:,
I have hit a total of 15 points of life loss, and I had only 18 to start but keep in mind I used a Force of Will so my life is now at 2.
So do you think I won on the following turn? I bet you do, and trust me I did.
I have known since I first created this Offical thread on drain~tendril that it as a arch type isn't one inwhich wins fast {Yet I can say I have had a few turn 2-3 wins in my day} further more Ad Nauseam is not a card based in this arch type ment to be casted on turns 2-3, and if someone thinks otherwise I would recommend they now stop and consider the fact they might not now how to play the build as a whole.
Drain~tendrils is a arch~type that controls the game, and in that picks its moments to than destroy the opp when a window as opened itself {I call this window a green light}.
So I will now take the risk of any comments that want to disagree with me by saying this........... Ad Nauseam is not slow, and if played correctly will in most cases end the game. Test everyone all you want, but I will be the first if this card gets restricted to say.........I told you so.
Now on final note I will say this............what the pluck were they thinking when they created this card? I'll let you guys ponder that one, but in the mean time I'll just play 1 single copy and get used to the idea it will be that way most likey in the end because either this arch~type or another and I don't want to take away from this thread.........it's broken period.
I have to be honest that I didn't really like Ad. N when I first saw it spoiled. However, I think I might find room for it in my "highlander storm deck". I think it will be a good way to refill my hand if the deck fizzles the first time I try to go off.
I agree with sm, no doubt in my mind, they will restrict this in vintage sooner or later. I don’t think I will be a t2 staple though L SM could you tell me how you played AN (mana wise), Im just curios. Every time I’ve played it I needed a lotus + moxen.
In the sake of this thread and topic I'll answer.
I hope my grammer is on right now because I have a little Captian in me:D.......why do they make this rum so damn pure {no need for answers and I hope it's ok to joke a little in this thread, but I'm going for another}
End of the turn on my opp's 4th I had open for use.
1x Island
2x Underground Sea
1x Mox Pearl
1x Sol Ring
I missed a land drop, but I had enough to cast this Ubber stupied card, and than the results I have posted above D3@D post.
I'm keeping my new build a secret for now, but maybe I'll share it soon. My result have been beyound awesome though to note.
Well, It worked well guys... The problem with my deck is that I have too many cards that cost too much mana... 4x Force of Will, 1x Misdirection, 1x Yawgmoth's Bargain, 1x Darksteel Colossus and something more... So if you have bad luck, you can miss the game...
But the times I used the card at the end of my opponent turn to draw 6-7 cards... Won the game on my turn...
omg I just played a game where EOT i play Ad Nauseam, i top deck this
1st mox pearl
2nd underground sea
3rd Force of Will (ouch i take 5 i go to 7)
4th yawgmoths win ( i go to 4)
at this point i can see my opp. will win next turn so i go for broke
5th demonic tutor( I drop to 2)
well i get greedy and go for 1 more
6th mox jet
Well i push it
7th volcanic island
8th mox ruby.
I stop there. My turn i draw my hand is at 13. I go off for the win.
Im starting to like Ad Nauseam more and more.
Oh, sorry, for future reference bob= dark confidant. So, are you running any?
Please put more effort into your posts. Capitalization and basic spelling aren't very difficult, and make posts much more readable. This is your last warning.
Bob Maher Jr. is the player who designed that card after he won the privilege of doing so by winning a Magic Invitational tournament. That's why we call it bob.
In drain decks, it's known that more cards = more win, but Bob's much more of a sideboard card, as people tend to side OUT their removal in game 2 against a storm deck, not side them IN, so Bob lives longer.

The interesting thing about us legacy players is that we consider Force of Will, Dark Ritual, Blood Moon, Tarmogoyf and Swords to Plowshare to be fair.
