true i would run 3-1 or even 4-1. also chain dosent let you draw. if your just hitting a mox your storm count gets bumped 2, and you draw. all for free (after you tap the mox again)
If you noticed there's a Chain of Vapor in the Md. 4 Repeals are better than 3, and I know after all the testing I have done as of today.
1. They replace itself with a Pure card.
2. They are instant speed removel in a pinch.
3. They are huge sinks for Mana Drains.
4. You don't have to relay on a single Chain of Vapor if needed, and add to fast storm count.
5. It's always better to run a max out spell if its the center of a engine, and don't be fooled in this case..........Repeal is the center for alot that can happen early, Mid, and late game.
omg i tested this deck online and am so far 3-0. repeal for the win!
I'm happy everyone who's trying this build has found it to be a success as I have.
I'm very positive about this deck only getting stronger, and its safe from anything being restricted to slow it down. I'll never forgive WoC for taking brainstorm away, and I'm sure repeal will not get axed!!!
I'll be trying my current build today, remember... No power9, but it should go smothly...
Maggical
Well just proxy them!!!
You're allowed up to 10 in most huge tourneys like
Waterbury
starcity games
ect...
and if your play group doesn't like it go tell them to play a different format because you're in the big leagues now!!! Never feel bad because in most cases its not a matter of buying them these days, but a matter of finding them is why most allow proxy play.
true, also theres giveaways going on all the time just try to win them. tested this build againt my ichorid, bets 3 out of 5. ichorid won 3-2. it was very close.

I have yet to lose a set against Ichorid, but I will say game 1 is a failure to win fast enough {note I do not win game 1}. Games 2-3 just focus on the jailers, and everything else will fall into place.
Well truthfully game 1 is a toss up, and I'll just keep it at that. Games 2 and 3 I relay heavly on H.Recall to screw up board and watch them discard at clean-up step and Tinker+D.C. for fast beatdown. My results are these against stax.
First set
2-0
second set
2-1
third set
1-2 {my buddy Gabe had a God hand turn 1, and I kept a handful of Mana Acc just to face a chalice} I forced it just to see him drop a second one.
Games 2-3 I was tired I think, so with that excuse played carelessly. I'm well prepared to face stax with this build, but I'm still bouncing back and forth with my other build which includes Goyfs.
I played a set with that deck and won out right 2-0, and his thorns were usless against my goyfs which handed him is MULE.
i would keep goyfs in the sb, there good but not nesecary for mb you know.
That's why I posted for the site the new build. I like to think outside the box, and will come to my own conclusions with mine. I do hope everyone that did try that new build has been happy.
Maybe I'm just having fun for these reasons.
1. Tarmogoyf casting is :1mana::symg:
2. Splashing him is easy taking only 3 spots, and I'm fetching for Tropicals on turns 3-4 and casting down a nice beat stick.
3. Its the best creature that has ever been printed. I think of him as sitting on the highest mountain just looking down, so why not add him in the center of a storm?
I have a question for you: Which are the primare targets against stax and painter of Repeal? Should I keep this card in hand for +1 storm and a replaced card for U or something?
Should I side in Echoing Truth against ichorid, or something?
Easy to answer those buddy.
Against Stax your side has 2 cards that are called Hurkyl's Recall, and I think that should clear that one. NOTE REPEAL IS SICK AGAINST STAX DON'T BOARD OUT.
Against Ichorid your side has 3 Jailers, and just use control to back them to watch dredge fight a up hill battle while you jog to victory.
Again if you read the deck I posted that is just a flat out killer the side runs 4 thoughtseize and 4 needles. Good-bye painters deck, and I hope this helped.
remember if they drop painter they can waste the needle with a blast.
And remember there's a counter response to everything Val!
like I force {drain} the painter so it never hits play, or REpeal the servant or rebuild, or or or or or or......Hurkyl's
Anyways what I posted should help that member out if he's a seasoned mage, and clearly if he knows how to play vintage he'll understand. Remember Val I posted {back with counter-control} I hope you understand what that means.
i understand, but its always the luck of the draw
[ lol 420th post :/ ]
Luck of the draw has no barrings on the questions he asked, and the reply you directed at me. I'm done replying to you now val.
Anyone else that needs help I'm all ears, and I hope that member understood the comments I gave in order to side/win those match-ups.
Following my comments, and you might just skip the luck of the draw thing with consistant wins.
OMG i totaly forgot about Ad Nausam, its simply amazing. drop this and your opponent will say GG. however if a noob plays this they could make a costly mistake and be left without the nessesary life to finish there combo (cards like yawgmoths bargain, vampiric tutor, impereal seal, ect.)
Ad Nausam is broken in my mind, but I guess some might need to see it on paper first to believe it.
Example:,
I cast Ad Nausam, and the first card revealed is a land, 2 is mox, 3 is ritual, 4 is recall, 5 is will, 6 is ect ect ect. enough said for now.
Now to all that wanted/waited to see Happy~Long here it is, and trust me this deck is no joke!
Note this is not a pitch~long build or a Drain build, but has proven to be just as powerful as any tier 1 arch-type.
Think about it... As you are in the middle of the combo, you spend the same amount of mane for 4 spells rather than for 2...
And in the same way... If you need to return a 4 mana permanent, you need 5 mana, and with Chain you only need 1...
