Sup folks, I won the annual vintage in my local. I went 5-1, then win my 4 matches in top8 to claim the first place. All that with a deck that I didnt even test...lol
That's the deck I brewed and played:
Round 1, Noble Fish:
I mulligan my first game to 3 cards(damn mana screw...) and lost VS a Noble Fish. I lost my second game too, my deck didnt like me
0-1 BAD start...
Round 2, ZOO:
I easily won VS a Zoo deck by taking advange with my Confindant and Shaman for constant draw/life/damage.
1-1.
Round 3, MUD:
I lost the first game and it took 40 minutes... then we were in a urge to finish the round in 15 minutes. I manage to win the second game in 10 minutes with an agressive starting hand. I won the last game during the fourth turn of the last 5 to play till a draw with 2 Tarmo and 1 Shaman.
2-1
Round 4, Oath:
I was lucky in game 1 to have both Abrupt Decay to destroy the Oath he played and a Liliana for the second 1 he played. I won game 1. Game 2 was even easier with my 4x Abrupt main deck.
3-1
Round 5, Reanimator:
Easy enought with my 4x Shaman main deck, and post sideboard it's event easier. I think he was mana short game 2 thoo.
4-1
Round 6, Dredge:
Same difficulty as Reanimator, except I didnt draw a single Shaman game 1 so he won, but I won the 2 other game pretty easily.
5-1
I barely made the top8, but I was already happy with my tournament, for a untested deck I brewed the morning.. heh
I started the top 8 VS a Snap/Jace Control...
I lost game 1 to a fast Tinker/Blightsteel and no Counter/Lili in hand.
Game 2 he again started in force by casting time vault and vampiric tutor (on voltaic key), I was lucky enought to have an Abrupt Decay ready in answer to his Key, he was pissed off and I won the game by removing card with Shamans
I won game 3 with well placed counters and with my creatures beatdown.
top4 VS White Trash
This game was pretty easy to win... Not a good top 4 game
Final VS The Noble Fish That Beat Me Game 1!!
He won a long game 1 game by taking advantage on card drawing and better draw I guess. It was a pretty close game.
I won game 2 because of well played Abrupt Decay and Liliana, taking advantage of my Dark Confidant.
I Won game 3 with perfect draw and very lucky. I took like 5-6 turn, I opened 2 tarmo with Black Lotus, Time Walk and Counterspell.
I won !!
And I want to say: Abrupt Decay, Liliana, Deathrite Shaman are ****ing awsome ! Seriously, you have to play with them in Vintage to c theyre true forces!
With more testing this deck is AWSOME. Seriously I think it's the best FISH type deck available at the moment and deverse to be played in tournaments, I suggest you try it out and see the result.
Let me know if someone try it somehwere I would like to hear more comments/tips on this deck from other perspective.
How do you feel about Snapcaster? Could he replace Trygon or would you rather have those in case you do play MUD? I just like having additional Spell Pierces with Snapcasters. Is Liliana on Jace's level? She seems pretty solid being an answer to Oath decks, probably helps vs Noble Fish and her discard isn't bad since you have Bob to make up for it.
