I trying to convince a friend of mine you can start playing vintage without power (he's not fond of the fish lists I’ve showed him). I was thinking of suggesting he put together something like the following. Anyway I’m at work and it’s just off the top of my head so I thought Id run it past you guys for thoughts and improvements. I was thinking of trying a memory jar in place of the lotus petal for welder shenanigans but I’m undecided.

You're never going to want 8 REB effects. You'll also want to maindeck Ethersworn. I'd cut welder too, he doesnt do what the rest of your deck wants to

I would suggest looking at the christmas beatings list for some suggestions.

Thanks, Ill move the cannonists to the main over the extra REB and check out that list.

Why?

Enlightened tutor doesn't get anything exciting
Balance is not going to get you any advantage
Regrowth doesn't get back anything exciting
If you give them another land you are dead that much quicker
lighting helix is just bad

gaddock teeg wins games
Null Rod makes it hard for them to win games
Swords to Plowshare, because I would rather them have 1 or 2 life then a land.
Something with feet because you need to win somehow....

i'd say 4 teegs, he's that good.

is stoneforge mystic+equipment any good here or just not worth it? I'd certainly consider some skullclamps. they are flat busted and good card advantage if a critter dies.

edit: another absolutely incredible creature for this as a 3 or 4 of is magus of the moon. him +teeg +gorilla shaman make for a pretty substantial rgw "fish" base.

Im not sure how good gargadon would be because what other matchup would you use it in?

Null rod is far more important.

I would say that depends more on your meta than anything, but I'd be tempted to run both, myself. Or perhaps either clamp or rod, but definitely chalice of the void.
