I am new to vintage. I usally play extended and kind of dabble in Legacy. There is an tourny coming up and I really want to play. I know a couple of the players and I know thats all they play. I expect alot of Tempo Thresh and the combo decks that show up in any unknown meta. I have come up with a list and I wanted to know what people who know what their doing think.
Yes, I know the first thing you are all going to say is about the Shock Duals. If I have time to get the original duals before the tourny I will but, other than that I want to know what you think.

I have been looking at that forum for a bit. I just really didnt want to anger people with my Semi-budgeted verson. I mean most of the poeple run parts of power and run goyf. Which I definately don't have the money for. If I can ever come up with that cash I wont hesitate to get'em but until that day, idk how much vintage I will be playing. But as it is right now, what do you think?

Do the Vintage tournaments in which you are planning to play allow proxies? Most events allow some number of proxies (usually around 10), so that can help you out a bit with cards like Ancestral Recall and Time Walk.
Yea thers a 10 Proxy limit....Its pitifull when I have to proxy cards that arnt that expensive....Right now they are 3 Forces, 3 Null Rod, 1 Recall, 2 Tropic Islands, and 1 Tundra. Hopefully I will be able to get the 3 real forces I need and take out the Shock duals for more proxied ones.

Also I think these decks usually have some form of creature kill maindeck. Where other more broken decks can pretty easily race an early Tarmogoyf or something, he'll probably overwhelm your creatures. BUG Fish uses Diabolic Edicts because it can also kill shrouded Tinker targets like Inkwell Leviathan. If you're worried about Inkwell you can use Tariff, otherwise I'd use Swords to Plowshares (not Path to Exile, it goes against your mana denial plan).
Hey, I'm not an expert on this deck but I'll try to offer some advice
I would get rid of the BEBs and Hydroblasts, these should not be necessary. Mindbreak Trap is good vs combo but since you've got the man plan going on Ethersworn Canonist or Aven Mindcensor might be better for you. Same thing with Energy Flux compared to something like Samurai of the Pale Curtain (EDIT: Whoops, not this guy, the white guy who gives artifacts an upkeep cost). Jotun Grunt can really help vs Dredge and fills your efficient beater role due to the missing Goyfs.
For maindeck stuff:
I highly suggest getting rid of the Rhox War Monks maindeck. If you don't like the previously mentioned creatures, you should at least test out Cold-Eyed Selkie in this slot with all your exhalted dudes. Should be a ridiculous draw engine, especially if there aren't a lot of Darkblasts and Fire/Ice floating around in your meta.
Definitely test something in place of Counterspell, that is just not played in Vintage. Stifle and Spell Pierce are both better. You might find some combination of those better than Spell Snare as well.
Anyway, none of what I say can substitute for testing, get this built on MWS and try all of the different configurations. Build the more popular decks too and test vs them to see what sideboard cards are most effective for you. Best of luck!

Rhox War Monk is your weak link for creatures. If you have them, these should probably be goyfs. Depending on your meta they could be Ethersworn Canonist, Aven Mindcensor, Kataki, War's Wage, Jotun Grunt, etc
