Any suggestions? I think a resolved Sacrament wins the game vs several top tier decks, including the best and most popular choice right now. Either it resolves and they lose, or they counter it and there's a better chance of getting your business spells to resolve. I'm not that big on the Bitterblossoms, maybe I'll remove those, put the Chalices back in the main and add some combination of Crypts and Jailers or something.
Bitterblossom is almost worthless without Gate to Phyrexia in your sideboard with regards to vintage. Those slots could be filled with much more useful cards if you're not running those. That new black card is pretty sweet.........but mD Extripate is for more superior for ending matters.
S.M.
The thing with Extirpate vs Sacrament is that Sacrament outright wins the game vs Tezz if resolved early. Extirpate can take out their drains or forces, but their win conditions are all 1-ofs anyway (Tezz, Inkwell/Sphinx, Time Vault).
Like I said, I'm not crazy about the Bitterblossoms, and with Null Rods, all the discard and the Sacraments I'm not worried about artifact kill in the board. vs Stax I'd just bring the Leylines. Bitterblossom on it's own is very good vs Stax, creating all of those permanents though. Tough choices.
Imo, mono black should be with a splash green for several reasons such as artifact/enchantment removal, Goyf and Life from the Loam. If not, then I'd at least put some Waste/strip in there because these are very good with Null Rod and Challice strategies.
You should check out the deck I posted in this area called Oo'Goyf. Black/green, and all the carvings for a total package when considering Black as the main color.
