I realize that its very 4 of which usually means its not good enough for vintage yet. A tier 1.5 deck is my basic goal with this. I want a favourable matchup against stax and control slaver while not horribly dieing to oath. Goblins has been a problem unless I draw multiple Fanatics. Thoughts?

List needs to be made more black based on Glix's suggestions which all are sound.
Thanks for the help I made a few quick changes and I'm testing out there other stuff you've mentioned. One note about shatter spree is that my deck is really hindered by chalice for 1. As a result, I need double red to bust through that with spree or 3 mana for RnR. I'm not sure which one is easier, but I'm still likely RnR mroe for the moment.
Edict is an interesting option, but I think I'll have to choose between edict or darkblast because too much creature removal is going to really slow down the deck I think.
I've added a couple crucible in place of the useless duplicants in hopes that I can abuse wasteland/strip as well as barbarian ring.
I would cut the crucibles for Chains of Mephestopholes. Chains is awesome against so many decks. In addition, I also agree that you will find shattering spree > R&R. It is much more uncounterable and late game can completely wipe a board of artifacts. Might I add that it is not affected by chalice. Copys=not played=not affected by spree.
I would also like to point out Plagued Rusalka as a possible Mogg replacement. Both have their merits, the Rusalka can kill more things, but the mogg doesn't require a cost.
I think that you should cut the welders. You will find them weak when not using them pro-activly. Sure they are good against welder decks, but they are horrendous against many decks. Combo decks, fish, etc. are all unaffected by this card.
I like Duffy's version a lot, but it is pretty creature-light. I agree that speed is an issue, but I don't think that ritual is the answer. I would go for more of a mddw approach. Btw, petal is very weak in this deck. It is affected by your own rod, is a one-time effect, and doen'st generate nearly enough mana to be worth-while.
On the issue of creature-lightness, what about Withered Wretch? This creature is absolute gold against much of the meta, taking out welders in the same maner that mr. mox does, as well making wills and such very weak.
Heretic is a VERY strong card, especially as it can force colossi to stay of the field. I would keep him in, but I feel that 4 is over-kill. 3 should be plenty. In the same regards, are 4 rods necessary? 3 should probably suffice, imo.
The one real issue I have with the deck is that Dark Confidant is the only real way I have to draw cards, but then again with Chains out no one really gets to draw cards anymore.
Edicts have been noted and I'm really liking the idea of them in the sideboard. I'm thinking that against fish null rod isn't going to be as effective so perhaps I should have aether vial to swap for them.
So thus far I'm thinking my sideboard plan vs Oath will be
-3 Viashino Heretic
-3 Shattering Spree
+3 Edict
+3 Goblin Bombardment? Spawning Pit?
Fish plan looks like this so far
-3 Null Rod
+3 Aether Vial
That takes up 9 slots right now. I'm doubting the fish plan a bit since many fish builds play Null Rod as well. Although after the first game they might sideboard it out when they note both of our similar game plans. Yawgmoth's Will isn't currently in the deck and maybe it should be or perhaps I should use it for a late game solution to Fish. Then again equipment like Sword of Light and Shadow, Sword of Fire and Ice, or Umezawa's Jitte might be good too.

What is your game plan vs Oath? it seems like a tough match up. at least the artifact based decks seem like you have a good matchup there.
Any ideas for a sideboard yet?
