With the new card Rest in Peace, do you guys think the Helm of Obedience and Leyline/RIP combo is viable? The combo no longer requires black, and both pieces can be found with Enlightened Tutor. 6W Wins the game.
Since the vast majority of the mana required is colorless, I think a first look should be at Mana Drain. Enlightened Tutor finds both pieces of the combo, and finds both pieces of Time Vault, Voltaic Key. Balance effects Lands, Cards in hand, and Creatures in play, so Artifact/Enchantment based combo that discards down to your counter magic in hand+card draw cards would be optimal.
Half of the cards in every Vintage combo deck are the same to begin with. How much building around do you have to do when every deck in the format begins with Lotus, Mox, Mox, Mox, Sol, and some realm of Mana Vault/Crypt? Unless you're trying to force your way into sets of Duress, Cabal Therapy and Thoughtseize, you're really not losing much by using the low-land build.
I'm not trying to invalidate the concept of the deck, I just believe it is outright worse than many of the options that are commonly available, most of which do not force you out of free permission spells and stable card draw. Give me Helm/Leyline in Legacy any day, but in Vintage? Mer.
Might aswell throw og Tezzeret in there. Works great with all the aforementioned cards. Maybe a U/W Turbo tezz build with Ripline as an alt. Win con.tezz can tutor up helm too.
I've been having some success with this combo by also using energy field(this is in classic, not vintage) since it combos with RIP to prevent all damage to you. It's a control deck, and doesn't normally win quickly, but I think it could be ported over and be successful in vintage. Only needing 2WU in order to completely shut down some decks is pretty nice.

Could be a decent UWx Control Deck.
