Is there any real reason that Fastbond is still restricted? Are there any back breaking strategies with it that warrant it still being on the list?
And yes, I am aware of what it does with Crucible of Worlds and Zuran Orb, but is that it? In the current state of Vintage, is this truly worrisome? I'd like to here what Vintage players think(if any actually read these forums).
This would definitely not be a safe idea. This card is crazy with Gush in a totally one-to-one relationship already with a long history of its okayness officially. This truly could go off insanely even simply with Night's Whisper, that would already be enough, good restricted cantrips. You would recoup somewhere to a Merchant Scroll compounding of its consistency.

"Warning: Um, warning. This is going to be a game state violation. And a taking extra turns and drawing extra cards violation, pretty much, a whole bunch of violations. Look at me, I'm the DCI."
Fastbond is also insane with draw 7's. I think that Fastbond will not be unrestricted for a long time if ever - I would put it in the top 15 cards to be last be unrestricted. It's abusable in so many ways.

As someone who doesn't play vintage, that doesn't sound like a pleasant thing I would like in the format...
After watching LSV play a Fastbond deck and get stomped, what I realize is that Multiples of Fastbond do nothing. Maybe I need to rethink my philosophy on the banned list.
The key is throwing gush out the window and thinking big picture broken no matter what.
4 Fastbond
4 Night's Whisper
4 Sylvan Library
4 Savor the Moment = draw 4 TAKE turn instead of meditate SKIP turn. Get enough of this and it's bazork
4 Nature's Claim = to keep going
2 Pongify
4 Force of Will
1 Mental Misstep
2 Rapid Hybridization
2 Chain of Vapor
2 Fatal Push
5 Moxen
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Opal
8x on-color artifact land
1 Gitaxian Probe
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Merchant Scroll
1 Timetwister
1 Regrowth
1 Memory Jar
1 Tinker

Seems silly to have 4x Fastbond in a deck with only 8 lands.

Vintage >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Legacy
As someone who doesn't play vintage, that doesn't sound like a pleasant thing I would like in the format...
Jalira, Master Polymorphist | Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder | Bosh, Iron Golem | Ezuri, Renegade Leader
Brago, King Eternal | Oona, Queen of the Fae | Wort, Boggart Auntie | Wort, the Raidmother
Captain Sisay | Rhys, the Redeemed | Trostani, Selesnya's Voice | Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight | Obzedat, Ghost Council | Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind | Vorel of the Hull Clade
Uril, the Miststalker | Prossh, Skyraider of Kher | Nicol Bolas | Progenitus
Ghave, Guru of Spores | Zedruu the Greathearted | Damia, Sage of Stone | Riku of Two Reflections
Funny timing as Fastbond now officially un-restricted!
Seems as the powers that be were in agreement with me on this one.
