What do you guys think about Azorius Knight-Arbiter ? It's a pretty novel combination of abilities. You get a big blocker plus an unblockable win condition, pretty interesting, but likely bit quite good enough.
Since the full spoiler came out today, it is time for my traditional "Too Early Top 20." I always rank cards based on how interested I am in possibly cubing them, so unique cards tend to rate higher. As a general note, I find this set a tad disappointing. Nothing jumps out as a potential future staple, with the sole exception of my top card.
20) Incubation // Incongruity- It does have two halves with vastly different effects, but they are just both versions of cards no one tends to play anyway.
19) Ministrant of Obligation- Much grinder than the token effects I would want in CUbe.
18) Tin Street Dodger- Red gets a lot of 1/1 hasters with small upside, and this is definitely a small upside.
17) Lawmage's Binding- Flash Arrest is very interesting, but three mana removal needs to be better, especially in a Guild section.
16) Plague Wight- Very interesting effect on an attacker, still probably worse than a generic 3/2.
15) Sage's Row Savant- A 2/1 Omenspeaker, maybe interesting for blue aggro.
14) Essence Capture- Another interesting blue aggro card, though double blue is rough.
13) Sphinx of New Prahv- Interesting as a 4-power evasive and hard-to-kill threat. Vigilance is nice, but having 3 toughness limits its effectiveness.
12) Frilled Mystic- Guaranteed 2-for-1, but I have cut a lot of the blink cards, which limits the upside.
11) Rhythm of the Wild- I have never been very interested in Fires of Yavimaya effects, but this might be better.
10) Skewer the Critics- Realizing that this is quite bad at clearing blockers dampened my excitement.
9) Senate Guildmage- Very solid controlling 2-drop for Azorius.
8) Sunder Shaman- I love maindeckable artifact and enchantment destruction, but the casting cost is rough.
7) Sharktocrab- Decent option on its own and has a lot of upside with other +1/+1 counter effects.
6) Trollbred Guardian- Attacks as a 7/7 trampler early than anything else, but has no protection for itself or immediate value when cast.
5) Depose // Deploy- Another really solid defensive card, but also has offensive potential with the flying tokens.
4) Drill Bit- My potential sleeper of the set, as this can really help amp up early pressure and keep the opponent off of a key comeback spell.
3) Sphinx of the Guildpact- An extremely resilient big creature that plays great on offensive and defense.
2) Light Up the Stage- Very strong support for the red aggro decks without being shoehorned into controlling decks.
1) Pteramander- Has a quite solid downside and also lots of upside in the spellslinging decks. Kind of like Cryptic Serpent, in that it should also have enough play in a low-creature control deck that does not focus on turboing spells into the yard.
I wish I could count Depose // Deploy as a hybrid card but the multicoloured side is so much better thant he hybrid side and my UW cards far outclass it even then.
It's one card more for one mana less. There are some hoops to jump through, but it's a very reasonable expectation for aggressive low curve decks that you'll get a one mana Divination most of the time in a color that normally has no card draw.
Forgot about this card, will definitely add it as well.

Looks like it happened to that dude up there, too. User-2364....
And not only that, looks like everything I ever posted was deleted as well. Including the average peasant cube thread. What the hell.
EDIT: Found out what caused it. Hopefully I can get my posts back. It's unbelievable how stupid some people are, but that doesn't fit into this thread. Sorry for being off-topic.
Oh its the end of your next turn, not end of turn I misread it. I am still not super high on it, that seems kind of more annoying from a bookkeeping point of view. So I am still not going to use it for that reason
Yeah, I'm definitely going to try it out. It does require some support though, so I'm also considering adding in some more instants/flash/activated abilities, like maybe Centaur Glade.
Pteramander -> Errant Ephemeron
Frilled Mystic -> Snakeform
Sphinx of the Guildpact -> Bane of Bala Ged
I like Light Up the Stage, but there's nothing that I really want to cut for it at this size. I'd probably be able to find room at 450, though. I'm also not super convinced about Frilled Mystic and the CCDD cost, but I know how good Mystic Snake is so I'm hoping for the best.

It's no harder than tracking suspend 1. I suggest using some sort of counter.
Okay, initial guess at the changes for my kids cube.
As per normal, keeping all the complex new abilities out, so no Adapt, Spectacle, Afterlife etc. etc.... but I'm making an exception this time for Riot. I think it's clean and clear enough for the kids to pick up pretty easily. I just really wish there had been some better creatures with Riot, particularly in red.
Anyway...
Fireblade Artist in for Spike Jester(The competition wasn't steep, and this guy plays really well with both red and black in the cube ATM)
Well, finding the remaining spoilers after my move was a nice surprise. As for likely inclusions...
Arrester's Zeal actually seems pretty interesting unless I am missing some crad which just plain gives the effect for the mana without the condition. Forbidding Spirit appears nice but basically just states 'next turn, target opponent must choose between playing on curve and attacking'. I would need to hear about results. Pteramander: Get in mah CUbe! Dagger Caster: A good amount of Goblin Chainwhirler for our format. But perhaps the worse stats just do not cut it. Light Up the Stage: Good CA in red. Smelt-Ward Ignus: Big maybe; it is still an interesting tradeoff to pull that trigger though the base creature could be better. Gruul Beastmaster: The haste on this thing still has be interested, alongside its synergies with the power matters archetype. Trollbred Guardian: The cheap adapt cost could well warrant an inclusion for this guy. Combine Guildmage: No. But it makes me consider Zameck Guildmage which can have its first effect be stacked with enough mana. Still probably not. Frilled Mystic: We finally have a Mystic Snake. But... The extra coloured mana just feels a bit much. Rhythm of the Wild is a likely inclusion; it feels like a better take on Fires of Yavimaya which I like as a concept. Sunder Shaman would be an inclusion I would make in the absence of the previous card and if I had more than 2 slots per guild. Sphinx of the Guildpact: Say what now? Snap inclusion since it is exactly the kind of card I love, even outside its raw power level.
Can confirm from pre-release that Rhythm of the Wild and Sphinx of the Guildpact are both as utterly ridiculous as they look on paper. Can't wait to jam them in my cubes and rock out.
Two cards that have really surprised me in draft are Resolute Watchdog and Ill-Gotten Inheritance. Watchdog is sort of a Mother of Runes light, so may be interesting for larger cubes (or if you don't want to play Mother). Inheritance is a suprisingly effective clock. Maybe it's still too slow for cube, but I'm considering trying it now. Of course cube won't allow you to draft three Inheritances...
In draft, I was surprised by how good Azorius Knight-Arbiter and Azorius Skyguard can be - they saved my bacon and won me games that otherwise would have been completely lost. The Knight-Arbiter stopped some decent ground attacks and put them on a clock. And Skyguard was hilarious against five 1/1 flying spirit tokens and a Gateway Sneak. Plus, the first strike blocker was a great deterrent for other attackers.
Unfortunately, I was playing defensively most of my draft, which is what allowed these five and six drops a chance to shine. I don't think they're nearly good enough in cube, where things are a bit more aggressive.
On the other hand, Pteramander performed as expected, even smacking for five a couple times, and I'm happy to have it in my cube.
I can't wait until it happens. This'll be the first infinite loop in my cube.
It won't be the first in mine, but it will be the first running cards that are actually worth running on their own. The early drafts of my cube tried to run cute things like Midnight Guard and Presence of Gond, but the odds were so stacked against ever drafting both and getting them together in a game, and they kind of sucked on their own.
Edit: I mean, I guess technically I could have assembled a three color infinite using Juniper Order Ranger, but I usually go 1-2 colors rather than 3 or more.
