@Applied Biomancy:
Seems ok. Being 2 soft effects keeps it at Borderline, imo. If we had more token, Unearth, or "if this leaves play/targeted", it may be better.
If you run higher auras, maybe. But UG has some more solid bodies than this spell slot
After playing quite a lot of this set so far the most surprising card, that stood out for me as an MVP was Ill-Gotten Inheritance. Unconditional and consistent 2 life difference per round actually is pretty cool. It's really nice in midrange decks against control, because even if they manage to stall off or kills or your creatures this thing is going to kill them, if they can't manage to apply pressure and race it fast enough. It's obviously also good in control decks themself, when your try to stabilize your life total, especially against red decks.
The 8 lifedrain emergency button can also be a life saver.
I'm not completely certain, that this card is good enough for a power-oriented cube, which might be too fast, but it's certainly a consideration and might be testworthy.
Apart from this the only card that was really able to take me by surprise was Azorius Knight-Arbiter of which I'm not sure if it's better or worse than Lawmage's Binding. It's really really good in it's own limited environment, which is obviously a lot slower, but it's still a somewhat interesting card. It's definitely better than the compareable Dawnstrike Paladin since it can always attack unconditionally and also has a bigger butt. Lifelink is a strong keyword, but unblockable in combination with Vigilance is really cool.
Again as Humphrey pointed out in a different thread Azorious doesn't really have a role and it's multicolor cards are mostly good stuff. The UW Skies archetype is certainly a possibility, but there is not really any payoff for that, except for Warden of Evos Isle, which I would only run in combination with the Welkin Terns.
Apart from that there is the Rouge Archetype with cards like Stealer of Secrets and Farrel's Zealot in combination with stuff like Hands of Binding or Aerial Guide. A fun archetype, which I've been actively supporting for a while, but then again it's mostly a blue archetype.
Somehow i thought Ill-Gotten is 5 mana. For 4 its considerable. In my T1 it would be more of a sideboard card though. You only want it against control and yeah, sb only cards are meh. And my T2 probably doesnt need it, since black has a lot of durdle action going that gives value and eventually wins the lategame.
Im definitely going to add when we get more lifegain payoff. It seems already pretty strong with Epicure of Blood
I think that you're kind of looking at it this way already, but I just want to make my thoughts on Inheritance explicit: I think that this is an uncommon effect that is better than expected in its limited environment, and I think that there is a tendency to overestimate those kinds of cards for us. I think that you need to value novelty fairly highly in your Cube for it to be worth inclusion, since 4 mana for a card that doesn't effect the board and provides card disadvantage but that isn't particularly strong in aggressive strategies is a tough sell even for more moderately powered Cubes like mine. However, it is a unique effect that I do think some particular decks would play, and I am also reconsidering it for inclusion in my Cube. Plus, we don't know for sure until we try it. Just... Be cautious.

continued damage can be strong against certain strategies. the question is, how often is the lifegain relevant since how often did you consider running Curse of the Pierced Heart. which i run in my t2 btw, since red can use this effect against the durdledecks.
How has Blade Juggler worked out for you, Humphrey? I'm coming around on it. I think my problem was that I had pegged it as a riskier Phyrexian Rager, a card that just sort of smooths over Black's game plan. I underestimated the importance of 3 power, which makes it closer to a Kavu Climber/Rager split card than I expected.

After playing a lot of Ravnica Allegiance lately I also wanted to take a 2nd look at the Juggler. I think I'm going to test it and I would be very interested to hear any results how it performed for you.
Havent played it yet, since i mostly play Arena right now. But I expect it to play as I expect Really solid in Bx aggro strategies, whilse also not out of imagination in midrange or even control decks.
But im actually getting more and more sold of Ill-gotten, the fact that is also sacs for 4 makes it a pretty strong card.
I havent played in quite a time. Changes werent big enough to really shake things up. Might try to get some games in after mh release, currently busy building decks in the rediscovered star trek ccg. you should try it out lol.
