Omenspeaker was drafted together with Dakra Mystic at some point. Not the same set, but same draft environment, so I wouldn't say it's out of the question.
I'd take a blue Mistral Charger, but I'm past the point of wanting / using an actual Welkin Tern since we have Tetsuko, Plunderer, Parrot, and the "flying when attacking" guy from Ixalan.
I agree with your opinion on Goblin Instigator.. although I am still considering it.. I have a Goblin Wardriver in my cube. It is part of the same deck as the instigator would be and it can a huge amount on the attack but that double red is so prohibitive, I just end up cutting it from decks a lot just because of its mana cost... also I have Honored Crop-Captain now.
Perhaps I'll see something like it to support an instigator type goblin token aggro deck.
Of the additional reveals, Gearsmith Prodigy certainly has me interested even if I know proper artifact support is hard to pull off. However, an aggressive deck with a ton of evasion which blue provides would be happy to run equipment anyway, and 2-power blue 1-drops without crippling drawbacks are just so rare.
Trusty Packbeast also signals a nice power level even if I think there are more interesting options for us at white's 3 spot.
I'm also interested in Gearsmith Prodigy. I've cut down on my artifacts a bit, but I still think that if an artifact archetype work for us, it's most likely to be an aggressive deck and Prodigy fits that deck for sure.
No, but those cards are not blue. Blue has the most interesting cards for an aggressive artifact archetype, so Prodigy strengthens that pool, whereas Court Homunculus is in a color that doesn't have any artifact synergy and red has plenty of better generic aggro cards. Blue's aggro creatures aren't that good, so if you have a blue artifact aggro deck (maybe with some burn) Prodigy might actually be able to compete there.
Why does blue have the most interesting creatures for this? What's blue's synergy? White has plenty of artifact synergy, we just run none of it (which is how I assume blue is at best, beyond thirst for knowledge)
Of course White has artifact synergy, but those cards are a bit all over the place, there's nothing that gives an archetype shape. Blue has that shape. The individual cards are still a bit sub-par, but the foundation for a blue-x artifact aggro deck has been there for some time.
My artifact colours are blue white. But the artifact deck is pretty close to colourless. White has lots of good equipment synergy and artifact tokens. And blue has a couple of synergy cards and evasion.
I think i still prefer phantasmal bear over Gearsmith Prodigy for the opposite reasons mentioned, because there are less blue aggro cards so I want my supported blue aggro decks to share picks. Not in the same draft, I mean I want cards that work in multiple decks.
I'm also interested in Gearsmith Prodigy. I've cut down on my artifacts a bit, but I still think that if an artifact archetype work for us, it's most likely to be an aggressive deck and Prodigy fits that deck for sure.
I'm super excited about the Gearsmith as I do run artifacts as an archetype in Esper. It offers a decent route for Blue aggro and Also slots into Artifacts archetype just fine. I feel like while its not for every cube, if you support an artifacts archetype It is worth considering. I have been considering both the other 1 drops for the cube also but while they are strong my artifacts reside primarily in blue.
Ulka I tried to make a U/x artifact aggro deck happen in your cubetutor and was successful (to the ponit of wanting to play Gearsmith) ONCE in about 20 attempts
Most decks just don't want a 2/2 for 1, and of those that DO most can't at all reliably (4 or more artifacts) make Gearsmith work.
It just seems like a surefire 15th pick for 99% of drafters, without much upside for those who WOULD play it.
That's Fair i0. My cubetutor is different than how my group drafts due to im the primary person to draft my cube tutor but I see your point none the less.
I do think its still a card that could be worth it if people have thier cubes set up for it. Sure the straight power Cu/be wont have space but I like to think it has a home somewhere.
Goblin Instigator seems good, but probably a worse cube design choice than Dragon Fodder (which is better for prowess/spells matter) or Mogg War Marshal (which is mostly just better).
The Scholar of Stars might be of interest to those still keen to make an artifact-theme work.
The presence of Omenspeaker probably means we don't get another fun dude in this space : (

Draft it on Cubetutor here, and CubeCobra here.
Treasure Cruise did nothing wrong.
I doubt there are two of them in one set. (Although I haven't gone through gatherer to look for examples/counter-examples).

Agreed. Plus, the tempo/aggro blue decks are certainly way more fun to play.

Oh, and Goblin Motivator is another Bloodlust Inciter and thus probably worth a slot.

They're... fine... maybe even better than other colors' top support cards, but still need a LOT of cube design space to do anything.

Perhaps if my cube was bigger.

There haven't been many notable rarity shifts, though... uh... Blessing?
