Really sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but I saw other Battle Box discussion under the cube forum so I figured this was ok.
Anyway, my question is...what do people think of the Ascend mechanic for Battle Box? Getting to 10 permanents seems much more likely when you get a free land every turn, so the cards get more powerful automatically in the late game. Too slow, or worth it?
it's probably on par with using the monarch mechanic. we've found that it can produce some pretty unique situations and can create some pretty heavy swings.
our group has allowed the "monarch/crown" to be considered as an artifact which adds a nice way to interact with the effect. we'll probably treat the blessing of the city in the same regard and do a lot of testing to see if cards become to broken with the effect (pending that they are the right effect in the environment to begin with)
