New mechanics:
Devoid - This card has no color
Ingest - Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, that player exiles the top card of his or her library
Awaken X - COST: When you cast ~ for COST, also put X +1/+1 counters on target land you control and it becomes a 0/0 colorless elemental creature with haste. It is still a land.
Rally - Whenever ~ or another Ally enters the battlefield under your control, (creatures you control gain X until EoT).
Converge - Do X where X is the number of colors used to cast ~.
Eldrazi Scion token - 1/1 with sacrifice this, add 1 to your mana pool.
Decided to put new cards in a second post and reserve the first post for possibly playable cards.
The new mechanics are cool, but I'm afraid that the ingest payoff eldrazi will all be rare+ and the colorless matters stuff will be too parasitic to see much play. Though the cards might be able to stand by themselves. Would you play a B/R flinthoof boar?
At first glance, sheer drop looked pretty awful, but the more I think about it, a 5W assassinate shriekmaw that etb tapped might be just on the low end of playable.
Devoid will surely up the amount of people trying to make Ghostfire Blade work in standard... especially if any of the creatures with Devoid are aggressively costed (or blue/red to mix in with the Thopter decks).
It's more comparable to Spike Jester I think, and not a favorable one at that. An extra mana for an extra toughness doesn't seem worth it here, and unless we get a ton of new, playable, aggressive Eldrazi then I don't imagine using the ability on other creatures is going to be happening. Besides, even without a targeting restriction I'm not convinced paying mana to give haste is ever that good - there's a reason Lightning Greaves is considered leagues better than Swiftfoot Boots.
By the time your able to cast a spell for its Awaken cost, you probably have enough lands already. If the opponents now have to target my lands with removal spells, then those are removal spells not being aimed at my other creatures. I think Sheer Drop is a fantastic card for control, as you can play it early for removal, and late game its essentially a 2 for 1. The tapped drawback is a problem though, but I think its definitely worth testing.
As usual, any mechanic can be good if it's effeciently costed. I'm optimistic that we'll get another card or two to push "+1/+1 counters matter" a step further.
i think awaken is one of those mechanics that would be awesome but i feel like we won't get anything cubeable out of it. a highly restrictive, 3 mana, sorcery-speed removal spell isn't enough as a wcs for me to be interested in this particular card, but thinking of it as a 6 mana restrictive shriekmaw in white is more appetising. white's top end is its strong point already though since the printing of sentinel of the eternal watch and a few other good fliers so i'm skeptical of this one ousting any of them.
so many directions they could take this mechanic though. i really like it, and hope we get some goodies. any kind of cantrip + body would be great.
oh, and ingest and devoid are pretty much just flavour text in cube unless something insane happens lol.
Sheer Drop would've been pretty nutty as an instant.
I'm optimistic we'll get one playable if there is a landfall enchantment cycle. The white one probably won't gain life since the green one does which is promising
Evoke just seems better than this, it can be on a non-"vanilla" body (unlike the 0/0 lands), and has interaction with flicker/reanimate stuff.
Obviously just takes the right combo of mana cost / number of counters for it to get cube-worthy, but the first card we've seen doesn't really come close for me.
That green enchantment isn't too far off from being cubable, (Curse of Predation kinda does it way better) but I'd be surprised if 1 or 2 cards in the cycle weren't at least worth testing, if it is indeed part of a cycle.
That card would have to be limited warping to crack the cube, in my opinion. Or the format could push people to be very very slow like ROE and an effective aggro card would be the buildaround (which would be cool)
I like Sheer Drop quite a bit, but I'm also moving away from having super efficient removal. I like that's also indirect support for +1/+1 counters decks.
My mistake, I thought it was landfall-put two +1/+1 counters on target creature. Even if it were, it would be a little too slow for most cubes. although now that I think about it, that would be pretty insane in a normal limited format.
Wishlist:
- more 7+ mana C/U colorless Eldrazi
- playable eldrazi spawn makers
- playable black defensive creatures
- 3 playable awaken cards to make me feel ok about Vampire Hexmage
- something "interesting" in red
- some kind of land shark (fingers crossed)
A playable Eldrazi at 6 or 7 mana would be awesome, as would any card(s) that enables a strategy based on lands. (Though something tells me the pool of utility lands isn't quite where it needs to be for a land-based archetype)

It is. But all new cards in the duel deck will be in BFZ.

We normally have a thread in here to talk about these cards with respect to peasant/pauper cubes. Not general spoiler talk.

Draft it on Cubetutor here, and CubeCobra here.
Treasure Cruise did nothing wrong.
