That's kinda the point I want to get at. I saw that abrade got played like 10x as much as Fire prophecy, and thought "But if you aren't using it to destroy artifacts often, I have to assume that the extremely often occurrence that you churn a card from fire prophecy not only is more useful but also just makes more magic because it helps with the nongames"
I removed abrade in an attempt to downtune my removal, but I think I accidentally upgraded to a fire prophecy variant and I'm probably not going back
Probably Leelue and Rushing River, but rescuer chwinga is truly a very good magic card. Unlike most charms, it has a fair baseline to go with its flexibility (and its applications are so broad)
What basic lands are you guys running? I came across a bunch of Korean Tempest lands a few years back after my buddy bought a collection and donated them to the cube. I'm thinking of upgrading to something in foil, but not sure what I want to change to.
Finally going to experiment with 10 more rare fixing lands: Triomes, ex indatha triome.
I've always been an outlier but I never had a problem with it. My games seemed great from my perspective and from anyone I could rope in. Problems arose when expanding to 8 people. So I am hoping this gets that off my back.
Funny: Makes [[Boseju, who endures]] worse.
Downside: Expensive option. Lots of text and money for upsides that might only be rarely relevant. I don't run their jungle shrine-and-co uncles for a reason (they're just bad thriving lands) but I hope the upsides will matter enough.
Nothing terribly special. I have at least a thousand full arts, but they're mostly in Commander decks, so I opted for more traditional frames that I liked the art for.
Plains Island - John Avon Island Swamp - Jumpstart Zombie Swamp Forest - Alara Sunrise Forest
I never did settle on a Mountain. But I'm wondering if it would be crazy to ditch basics altogether and run art cards in their place just because of this one: LTR Mountain Art Card
I mean, it's essentially a full art land, it just doesn't say it or have any frame at all.
I'm personally not big into the full art lands. It's also important to me that my lands are colour accurate and portray the thing they're meant to be. I've got these bad boys sleeved up :
I like the old frame (and black border), but I also like the crispness of the mana symbols. So when I decided to create a dedicated land station, I chose the arts I liked the most from Portal, Portal 2nd Age, Invasion, Odyssey and Onslaught (Commander Masters would qualify nowadays).

I wish all archetypes could be equally hated. Or loved, but the former better reflects the mindset of the vocal portion of the player base. My 540ish Peasant Cube on Cubetutor
My cube basics are the snow-covered lands from Coldsnap. I purchased a lot with 20 of each basic for ~$12 off eBay almost 15 years ago when I first put my Cube together. Very few of them are foil, but I have kept trading for ANY foil snow-covered lands when I can with the goal to ultimately swap out once I have at least 33 of each basic in Snow-Covered foil status.
Here is my basics. I actually currently only have nonfoil basics to help make the foiled and altered art cards I have in my cube pop more but I have been starting to collect foils to upgrade eventually.
I’ve found with the rise in retro foil printings at the peasant level that I liked the aesthetic of the dominaria remastered retro basics in foil. They hold pretty well from warping also. Easy to get large quantities of matching basics if that matters to you
Apparently, Leelue has some trouble with his password and has no access to the forum. He asked me to say and I quote:
"That I don't know how long I'll be gone and that browndog's taste in lands is gutter trash.
Also that I am completely abandoning the boring, zero skill "spell's matter" deck in izzet."

Speaking of bad taste in lands, I have to admit, these new lands coming out in Outlaws are kinda speaking to me. I liking how the symbol is being integrated into the art. I haven't been excited about basic lands since they ended the star foils.... Maybe there is a basic land overhaul coming up this set.
Can someone help me convince myself about cutting Vivid Lands from my Cube?
Here is my reasoning:
- I already run tapped Trilands, which are pretty much the same.
- I hate having to put dice on top of my lands.
- The Thriving lands are a cleaner design in my opinion.
I am currently Cubing 45 fixing lands in my Cube, which accounts for 1.25 fixing lands per pack. Cutting the vivids would mean going down to 1.11 fixing lands per pack.
They've been staples for so long that cutting them just feels wrong.
The next update on my cube is probably the biggest one I've done since my initial de-powering ~7 years ago.
I've learned an enormous amount from 17lands.com about what kinds of cards over/underperform in opposition to my heuristics. Combat tricks and cards that make "minor" objects, for the most part. Even more adventure cards than I expected. The good creatures with backup. etc.
Also, a bunch of older cards have gotten better over time all at once due to the cumulative support that has crept in since eldraine 1.0: artifact token "tribal". Oh, and O-naginata is finally ready for showtime.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Also, your post reminded me of the online discourse during MID draft about Lunarch Veteran, which made me realize that Veteran probably serves my design goals a lot better than Daxos, Blessed by the Sun.
I removed abrade in an attempt to downtune my removal, but I think I accidentally upgraded to a fire prophecy variant and I'm probably not going back

Cali, I still have my snow lands in because swapping is annoying: https://scryfall.com/card/mh1/251/snow-covered-island
I used to use mostly the Veronique Meignaud lands from ZEN: https://scryfall.com/card/zen/236/island
When I get money, I am either going with NEO full arts: https://scryfall.com/search?q=set:neo unique:prints t:basic is:full&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name
(second forest, second island, either mountain, first plains, either swamp)
or these meditation lands: https://scryfall.com/search?order=set&q=e:sld cn≥1399 cn≤1403&unique=prints.
I like the jubilee lands a lot too, so I will probably try to stick them in something: https://scryfall.com/search?q=a:jubilee type:basic -t:snow&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name
If I ever remake my bad card cube, I'll try to remember to get these too https://scryfall.com/card/sld/258/forest

9 DMU full arts
9 of each of the two NEO full arts
9 individual lands with art I really like, which are:
Plains
Islands
Swamps
Mountains
Forests
If I ever get around to it and want to spend a lot of money I would love have the John Avon lands from Double Masters or the Unhinged lands.
