Most of the cards that do things dramatically out of color are also not high enough power level to compete with the newer commons we've been getting, actually. Though if you're building that large of a cube you can probably dip into them anyway. I have no problem playing stuff that feels like it should be a different color, I think it's a little more interesting sometimes to have unusual effects.
At that big a pool I think having the redundancy is good but that you should also vary the power level of your removal to include some of the weaker (but still playable) ones. Stuff like Chill to the Bone and Murder that are quite serviceable but not on the level of some of the other cards. I say this because the power level of creatures will start to drop off pretty quickly once you get into higher numbers on your cube, so I feel like the power level of removal ought to taper similarly. Maybe that doesn't matter though.
I'm not sure any of them are worth it for us, but I do think Mardu skullhunter should probably make the cut. It's pretty dang absurd on curve, and still card advantage later. I also have 5(6) black one drops. (6 is counting Flayer Husk)
Wait, four mana, what? Fury shield seems much better on the defense, which is a weird place for boros to be. Seems like a fine but situational card to me though. Doesn't seem worth it if it's targeting a creature with less than 4 power, or you aren't blocking(or attacking) and killing their creature as well. Why not test it?
I have used Soul Reap in my cube from the begining. It's a great card, I don't use it as golgari because I prefer to limit clasification to color identities like in Commander. But it's a card that works against 80% of the creatures, maybe a little less because if you use black the chances of fighting green are a little higher than fighting black, but still a good chance.
Compare it to Searing Blaze. Soul Reap is more situational and less agro, but the effect is pretty similar if casted correctly and the cost is easier on you.

Im sure everybody saw they essentially reprinted the refuges, but made all 10 and made them common, I assume it doesn't matter but it is more fixing at common for pauper cubes

Yup. So out goes the guildgates, in goes the refuges.
Hunting Cheetah has been in my cube for a while and it's always been a very solid card. Green has lots of ways to push through damage, or punish people for blocking, so it's very common to pull a few Forests out of the deck. In my cube, there's a bit more support for "Saboteurs" in general, with some typical cards, like Wingcrafter and Spectral Flight, and some atypical cards, like Tawnos's Wand (another cool online Common). The best fit for the card has mostly been in UG Tempo decks, but White can support it well with Auras and color protection spells to let it through, whereas Red and Black can use removal to punch through with it (though that's true for any creature).
How many morph cards do you consider necessary for a cube to have in order to be reasonably deceptive, and to avoid granting too much advantage to those who know the list card-by-card?
Are there that many cards right now? I have disliked Morph for that reason, but maybe if the next sets give us more stuff, I could add them.

I just wondered why no one is playing Soul Reap. Sure it's worse than Doom Blade for saying nongreen and being sorcery, but still a good card. My next thought was, why not play it as a Golgari card? What do you think.
Your opponent having a non-green creature doesn't make you in green.
There's a boatload of blue spells better than brainstorm at common. Ponder, Preordain, etc. Even peek.
Brainstorm just lets you know what your next two draws are, really, unless you have a terramorphic expanse in play or something.
Not to derail, but I am trying to setup a sort of Topic Discussion exchange. I love theorycraft, and challenging discussions. I hope to essentially fire these things out semi-weekly. I will catalog them eventually, but moving forward, I just wanted to raise awareness for those who like to spitball and muse on various topics.
Feel free to submit some of your topic ideas. I have quite I feel are worth a day or two of postings.
This makes me wonder how the cube would play taking Black to its logical extreme of just Removal and Raise Deads (let the other colors worry about the creatures).

well, give red just burn, blue only counter + draw and green and white only creatures. would be an interesting cube to draft

Jeskai Windscout is kinda interesting but is probably held back by it's 1 toughness.
Outlast would be interesting if we had more creatures with counters on them.

that actually sounds fun as an experiment, but forcing everyone to play green or white just to get creatures seems sucky
