People really put too much stock into rarity at C/U levels. Complexity and the frequency of showing up in limited are pretty much the only factors that go into the decision.
Good cards tend to get pushed up to uncommon simply because they don't want them to be all over the place in limited games. But this changes with every environment's needs. Zendikar had vampire lacerator. Innistrad had Diregraf ghoul. You could swap which set each one came in and they'd likely exchange rarities as well. The 2/4 lifelink angel would have been an uncommon in almost every other format but thematically the set liked it, and it was a draw into the color at common which every set wants in every color.
Now, if you think the card would be too insane in draft, we have a different debate. Perhaps that's what you meant all this time.
But
Green is supposed to have better creatures than black. What wiggle room is there between lacerator and my bear?
A G bear wouldn't be too strong in limited. It'd be powerful, sure, but cards which are too strong in limited don't tend to be 1 drops. Dryad militant was okay, and actively bad in some decks.

Oh yeah I meant it would be a really strong card in a regular draft environment that Wizards would most likely put at uncommon for that reason. If it was Return to Zendikar I could see it at common though, sure.
Dryad Militant is uncommon.
Nettle Sentinel has some condition to make it work. While not a downside it is something.

The issue with Sudden Sizing is that they can just wait until after it resolves to kill your dude. The only thing Sudden Sizing stops with Split Second is burn and -X/-X.
I prefer value pumps (cantrip, cycles) over super strong pumps, so I'm more fond of Growth Spurt. Even better is something like Briarhorn:
Briarbear 2G
Creature - Bear
Flash
When ~ enters the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.
2/2
---
Even though a 2/1 for R isn't even broken or anything, I doubt we'll get that anytime soon. I'm already surprised that we got Rakdos Cackler. They just HAVE to put a drawback on a 2 power red attacker.
Make it an instant imo. Would be really strong, constructed playable strong. As is I like it ok but not super pumped for it.
Coalition Ultimatum 7
Tribal Sorcery - Human
Gain X life if W was spent to cast ~, draw X cards if U was spent to cast ~, target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn if B was spent to cast ~, deal X damage to target player if R was spent to cast ~, put an X/X Elemental token into play if G was spent to cast ~, where X is equal to the number of colors of mana spent to cast ~.
I want a really awesome 5color card.
For 2WUBRG you get a 10point lifeswing and get +6 cards. Obviously solid value in all 3-4 color decks too. I want it to be colorless but increase in value as you play more colors (like Skyreach Manta)

Pretty sure dirt's card is perfect. Especially since it can be a +1.
Yeah I know. I just want something like that where you can cast it in any deck but the more colors you have the better it gets. I want 1 5color cards and running something like Skyreach Manta or Tribal Flames just doesn't have enough of a 'wow factor'

I wonder what a good 5 color card would look like that we could get at a nonrare level.
Maybe something smaller where you can't get all 5 abilities at once but you can get customization out of the card. Like a 3 drop artifact creature that etb and does things for particular colors. Things that are all relevant and cross archetypical. That way having access to whatever 3 of the 5 abilities you want right now is the goal.

Yes, but scaled so every ability is likely to be wanted.
So maybe
a 1/1 for 3 that
W - makes a 2/2 token
U - disperse another target
B - drain 2 life? not so bad actually?
R - shock a creature
G - Battlegrowth
The only ability I'm not a huge fan of on mine is the white one.
Being able to deal with artifacts/enchantments on an otherwise maindeckable value guy is awesome and something I want in every control or midrange deck I ever draft.
I the Disperse more than drawing a card though. Being able to deal with every permanent type (even if only for a turn) is really awesome. Maybe make white the enchantment destroy effect and give green Regrowth?

Regrowth is incredibly powerful. I'd play him for just that ability alone.
Shatter and Erase are not abilities I want to maindeck the option for. The point I was making was to have a card where you really do want all 5 but you have to pick from 3. And having the card work for 2 color was a sweetspot I was trying to find. I would not, for example, play a 1/1 aether adept that could also erase. I would play all combinations of the card I listed.
I also started my guy as a 1/1 because once you add a second power he's suddenly reaaaaaaaallly hard to balance.
Azorius = aether adept with a 1/1 = Amazing
Dimir = 1/1 aether adept that drains life = Amazing
Rakdos = 1/1 fire imp that also drains life = cross archetypical all star
gruul = 2/2 fire imp or 1/1 fire imp + pump a guy = maindeck all day
selesnya = 2/2 + 2/2 or 1/1 + 3/3 or 1/1 + 2/2 + pump a guy = more flexible than your mom
orzhov = 1/1 + 2/2 + drain life = come at me bro
izzet = jiltstick
golgari = 2/2 that drains life or 1/1 that pumps and drains life = weakest but still boss
boros = fire imp that comes with a 1/1 = how is that fair
simic = aether adept or a/a aether adept + pump = already cubable but has upside
Jund = U
Bant = N
Naya = R
Grixis = E
Esper = A
5color = L
Ok so I've learned that shock and token making are really strong..... this is hard
I think it's spicy
but weak and simple enough to be an uncommon under the luckiest of circumstances.
If i said ping another creature I'm probably happy.
London Etcher 3
Artifact creature - Scarecrow
When ~ enters the battlefield, put a 1/1 creature token with flying onto the battlefield if W was spent to cast it, return another target nonland permanent to its owners hand if U was spent to cast it, target opponent loses two life and you gain two life if B was spent to cast it, deal 1 damage to another target creature if R was spent to cast it, and put a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control if G was spent to cast it.

I need artifact destruction that's more than just "ok" to maindeck
and I need an izzet card
So
Goblin Lab Assistant 1UR
Goblin Wizard
~ enters the battlefield with an experimentation counter 1R, Remove a counter from ~: Destroy target artifact. 1U, Remove a counter from ~: Draw a card.
2/3 Insolence and informativeness in one.
I don't think I'd cube Lab Assistant, but London Etcher is freaking sweet. And probably too good to print, especially with all the 3 color decks in standard right now with amazing fixing

a 1/1 for 3 that

U - disperse another target
B - drain 2 life

I think any two of those abilities would make for a very solid creature and you could easily want all of those at any point. In any archetype too.
A WUR card that gives a 1/1 and a 2/2, bounces a nonland permanent and deals 2 damage to a creature would be seriously in contention for one of the best creatures in the game, it's way too good.
You missed my revision, actually
you end up with a 2/1, 1/1, bounce, and 1 damage.
Very powerful still but then again, that's the idea behind rewarding someone for assembling wedge colors.
Also yeah definitely want to readjust to unsummon. I don't want it to be over the top.
Lab assistant is cute and serviceable, but it'd probably be better being able to remove a counter to either shock (for 1R) and keep the draw (for 1U). If you want more playable artifact destruction effects, wouldn't you want it on a card that fits into more decks than this one?
Anyways, this would be cool, kinda like a Shriekmaw for red:
Smithereens Elemental 2RR
Creature - Elemental
Intimidate
When ~ enters the battlefield, destroy target artifact. ~ deals 3 damage to that artifact's controller.

We already have 2/1 with double upside at uncommon in Dryad Militant. I honestly don't see why green can't have the biggest creatures even at CMC 1.
2/1 vanilla makes perfect sense to me for G. We have (mostly) upside 2/2 in Nettle Sentinel, even without Heritage Druid.
Timberling sounds like a sweet name.
Draft it on Cubetutor!
