I have a fairly standard common cube, and I am working on adding in M11. I am trying to decide if augury owl is worth replacing cloud of faeries and would very much appreciate your input.

How many cards is your Cube? Depending on how tight it is, these are some staple, common Blue 2CC drops:

-Errant Ephemeron
-Looter il-Kor
-Merfolk Looter
-Ninja of the Deep Hours

Those you'll see in nearly every Common/Uncommon Cube. I'd make sure you at least have all of those before any others. If you do, then great! To answer your question, I'm pretty sure I'd take Augury Owl over Cloud of Faeries.

They're both 1/1 fliers, but I think the Owl is more useful overall. You can keep it with a land-tight hand with the hopes of stacking your next few draws to fix your mana. I'm sure some decks (U/R Burn, U/W Blink) wouldn't mind splashing for it either.

The Faeries may be free to cast, but they quickly become irrelevant. Besides, there're better things to do than leave up counter mana to protect a simple flyer.

What broken things can you do with Cloud of Faeries? The scry on Augury Owl is dependant on the bomby things you can dig for.

My gut reaction is that both are a bit meh.

It's a bit hard to give you a better answer without knowing more about your cube environment sorry.

Augury Owl is amazing. It should be a really easy switch.

Yeah, the Augury Owl is the better card. Also, try out Welkin Tern, It's a pretty good card with a minimal drawback (AKA, none, since your attacking with it every turn.)

Augury Owl is not bad. Suspending Riftwing Couldskate and Errant Ephemeron is a decent 2 drop. Merfolk looter and looter il kor aren't bad either.

I'm pretty hesitant about Augury Owl. I've got it in my Testing Zone, so we'll see.

I wouldn't be--it's plenty good. Imo, it's better than Fathom Seer, as far as your list is concerned.

Eh. If I'm going to put in another 2 drop now, I'd rather Thought Courier.
